Chapter 97 22. The explosion rate is so high
The City of Ashes, Papagos is a magical place.
This place once welcomed the first group of elves to visit, although the ending was not very happy.
Of course, the most amazing thing is the local specialty here, the chameleon. The hatching pool in Pahuakos basically only hatches chameleons, and the drop rate is very high.
Following the fall of Pavakos and the slaying of the last Chameleon after the Battle of Blood Gulch, this Skink subspecies was believed extinct by the Slann. However, with the advent of the Age of Strife in 315 IC, Chameleons have reappeared from hatcheries in other Temple-Cities, though the drop rate is limited to a 2% maximum.
Daxus looked around the entire city of Pahkos, trying to determine where the feeling came from.
In the distance, the Skin Lizard Prophet rode a troglodyte and slowly approached. The Skin Lizard Priests stationed in Pahkos who had learned the news in advance also came over.
The Druchis and Genevieve were all amazed at the teleportation, but they immediately turned to look at the Skink Prophet, mainly at the strange-looking cave dragon that was five meters tall.
Chupakoko went to exchange pleasantries with the Skink Priests.
"Don't worry, you can see enough on the rest of the journey."
Daxus waved to the Drukis and continued to observe Papakos and recall what Chupakoko had said yesterday.
During the Great Invasion, Slampokasar attempted to manipulate energy magic to expel the demons. He needed time to summon mystical forces to fuel his magic, and the Lizardmen and Chameleons retreating to the city, led by the legendary Chameleon Oxyotan, fought desperately to buy him time. Unfortunately, the unpredictable power of the Winds of Chaos deceived him, and the massive energy magic spiraled out of control, swirling and tearing a rift through the air into the Chaos Realm.
Slann and his last defenders were sucked into the Chaos Realm. Papagos aged thousands of years in a matter of seconds, and most of the temple city and all its inhabitants were reduced to dust in an instant. Only the pyramid before Daquus suffered devastating damage but survived.
Master Ma presided over six renovations in the past seven thousand years. During the renovation in 1890 of the Imperial Calendar, the egg of the spring fruit was dug out. Now the egg is in Alyssa's hand.
"Set up camp, right in the square."
Dacus looked at the weathered but still standing pyramid in front of him, thought for a moment and then gave the order.
The Skink Prophet jumped down from the back of the Troglodyte, walked up to Darkus and began to introduce him.
"The Skink Seer Arkadan is at your behest."
Daxus also jumped off the big guy's back. Instead of shaking hands, he looked at Akadan and pointed at the pyramid and asked.
"Hello, Akkadan. Have you explored this pyramid?"
Arkadan looked confused when asked, then nodded and said confidently.
“We’ve explored them all!”
Daxus did not argue or quarrel with Arkadan. It was pointless. In his eyes, intelligent biological robots like the Skin Lizard were unreliable.
In the year 535 of the Imperial Calendar, the first Skink with a forked tail was born in the Itaza hatching pond. This Skink had the magical ability to tame cave dragons.
Skinks were previously unable to tame ferocious beasts like the Troglodyte, and any creature that approached would be attacked. However, the Skink Prophet could directly tame the Troglodyte, which also had a forked tail. Once tamed by the Skink Prophet, this ferocious beast would never abandon its master.
Adorned with gems and gold to honor their sacred status, Skink Prophets ride their brooding dragons through the jungles of Lustria, using their arcane oracular powers to seek out stone tablets, lost objects of the Old Ones, or investigate disturbances sensed within the vast web of leylines.
There was no show of food. It was just past 9 o'clock in the morning, and the Duruchis entered the pyramid after preparing their weapons and equipment for the expedition and lunch.
Warm drops of water slid down the cracks in the pyramid's stones and dripped onto the entrance. One drop landed right in the gap between the armor links behind Daquus's neck, and the drop slid down the back of his neck to his waist, causing him to shudder.
The dark corridor was filled with the smell of mold, decay, and ancient dampness. The Skin Priest stationed here led the way. Although the interior of the pyramid had been cleaned several times, the Skin Priests did not live here. In the words of the Skin Priests, it still needed several more repairs.
Arkadan also followed the team. He was a little unhappy, and the marquee above his head kept changing colors. He seemed to think that the hot-blooded Daquus was questioning the authority of his oracle.
Dacius ignored Arkadan and reached out to touch the smooth stone above him. The ceiling was low, so he could do this easily. The stone was cold and wet, huge blocks cleverly joined together, some even growing red fungus. He looked at the contents of the wall by the light of the torch and the glowing crystal.
"There seems to be no better experience than exploring the Lizardman Hill under the guidance of the Lizardman."
Each stone was engraved with hieroglyphs and murals, telling a different story and depicting strange, square, humanoid lizards doing incomprehensible things.
Although Daxus could not understand the exact meaning, it seemed to be telling a story of revenge. A malicious creature with an extremely abstract shape transformed into various darts, javelins and arrows, pouring anger towards distant enemies, teaching and inspiring the lizardmen to bring cruel revenge on their enemies.
"What is this?" Daxus asked, pointing at the extremely abstract creatures on the mural.
Chupakoko and Yakadan looked at it for a while, and Yakadan said with a hissing sound, "This is Shapati, the vengeful incarnation of the ancient saint."
"So pumping... so charming."
After walking through the long corridor, I began to walk up the stairs to the upper level of the pyramid.
Daxus took a few steps and suddenly stopped. He retreated again. He had a feeling, although it was not the power of destiny, but this feeling vaguely told him that the wall was wrong.
Tiga was almost crawling behind, but when he stopped, he bumped into the Druchi trainers who were walking in front of him while still crawling. The team was in chaos for a while and could not move forward or backward.
After a while of struggling, order was finally restored. Daquus stood before the wall, studying it for a long time. Ryan and Kallion had followed him through the battle before and knew some of the taboos. They simply held up the glowing crystal to illuminate the wall, repeatedly examining it but not touching it.
"Akkadan, come and take a look. There seems to be something strange about this wall."
Although Dacus was calling out to Akadan, he was actually calling out to the big boss behind Akadan.
