Chapter 98:23. Dual Use of Blood
Arkadan walked to the wall in confusion, and then a blue light flashed in his eyes. An obscure spell came out of his mouth. After finishing the spell, he turned his head stiffly and nodded to Daquus.
The wall slowly retreated with the spell, revealing a secret room. No dust fell, and the entire pyramid did not tremble. This wall was just an ordinary magic mechanism.
Dacus covered his mouth and nose and backed away.
The blue light in Akadan's eyes disappeared, and he stared at Dacus blankly. Dacus didn't give him any scorn, and simply nodded his head to signal him to go in and take a look.
"Oh my Ancient Saint, ouch!" Arkadan came back to his senses and jumped up excitedly. The sound of metal and stone colliding echoed in the aisle.
After entering the secret room, Akadan did not move for a long time. Through the light, Daquus saw that he seemed to be staring at something motionlessly inside.
"That's really unreliable."
Darkius motioned for Chupakoko, Ryan, and Kalyon to follow him inside.
The secret room is not big, and the stone material of the walls inside is completely different from the stones outside, which seems to be able to block magic and perception.
In the center of the chamber, a bloody statue sat in a pool of blood. The blood had dried, and the statue exuded an indescribable eeriness. Even stranger was the row of blood statues cast in gold to one side. There were about a dozen of them, each nearly two meters tall. It was unclear whether they were hollow or solid; under the luminous crystal, the gold showed no signs of darkening.
Ryan held the glowing crystal close to the statue and only then did he see clearly what it was.
"It's so damn abstract, just like the toad in the Zumali beads."
"This is Shapati's Vicious Blood Statue. My Ancient Saint, these are all untempered Vicious Blood Statue. Five hundred years ago, after the last Vicious Blood Statue was taken south by Ku-Jah, Hesiota disappeared."
Chupakoko pointed at the pile of gold statues by the wall and said excitedly while jumping up and down.
Daxus looked at Chupakoko with suspicion while trying to search for the word "Poisonous Blood Image" in his mind. It seemed to be an enchanted item, but the problem was that it was too big, right?
Akadan was still standing there motionless, with several stone tablets in front of him. He was intently interpreting the contents of the stone tablets.
Daxus walked over, and Master Ma's voice suddenly echoed in his mind: "The contents of the stone tablet are the methods for making and using the ancient saint Shapati's poisonous blood image."
"Okay, very good, very good. Carry them all out."
Six Skinks entered the chamber and gathered around the Vicious Blood Image, preparing their tools. The Skinks hissed and carefully lifted the Blood Image together. The crest of its feathers shifted uniformly to red, and the Vicious Blood Image stirred slightly. The Skinks, seemingly unconvinced, tried again, but still could not lift it.
"Sir, this should be pure gold." Ryan exclaimed.
"No, there should be magic or something else in the blood image. But this thing should be suitable for us. Isn't it a dual use of blood?" Darkus said and suddenly laughed sinisterly.
The team continued to move upwards. Darkus ignored the secret room. It wasn't what he was looking for; he just happened to find it. Tiga, the giant lizardman, was still there. He didn't believe the lizardmen couldn't handle these things.
The interior of this pyramid was completely different from Hexota's. It was deliberately designed as a vast maze, at least that's how it looked to Dacus. The strange, rotten stench of the air grew stronger as one ascended. Walking through the dimly lit corridors, one's senses were magnified. It felt like entering the mouth of a giant monster, ready to be devoured in the blink of an eye.
The team had passed the tomb chamber and the calendar room, and now they had arrived at the huge observatory. The higher they went, the farther they felt from Dacus, and before they knew it, it was three o'clock in the afternoon.
"Rest and return the same way."
The Duruchi and the lizards in the team began to eat food accompanied by a strong rotten smell to replenish their energy. While eating, Daquus suddenly found that Alyssa was sitting on the ground with an egg in her hand, staring at the carvings on the ground motionlessly. A faint magical light was emitting from the spring fruit egg.
At this time, Alyssa fell into a very strange state. Although her body was still sitting on the ground, her soul saw a different world. The stones of the pyramid no longer blocked her sight.
Alyssa's soul soon arrived above Papagos. She saw the spell protecting the ancient pyramid. The city gathered and emitted terrible magical energy, like a huge rune. She saw that there seemed to be veins of magic flowing underground in the city. A large amount of magic gathered in the pool under the pyramid. The pool condensed with something indescribable and disgusting, which made her soul tremble.
But all of this captivated Alisa. Her soul suddenly began to flow uncontrollably. She saw Gargan Tuzan hunting in the abandoned temple of the Lost Gate, its massive size several times greater than the Tyrannosaurus she had seen in the Terror Pit that day. She saw the town of Skogi being rebuilt by adventurers returning from the jungle, a ship docked in the harbor. She saw ripples on Lake Capac, shimmering.
Alisa saw countless colorful birds flying freely in the jungle sky. She saw crocodiles surfacing from the swamp, ready to hunt. She saw the ruins of a temple city nestled in the jungle not far from Pahkos. There was an unusual magical symbol there, a shimmering light that seemed to belong to an elf. It was so dazzling and captivating, it captivated her.
Alyssa's soul raced faster and faster, feeling as if it were being torn apart. Suddenly, she saw that being, a terrifying, toad-like magical creature sitting on a palanquin, seemingly half asleep and half awake. The terrifying being suddenly opened its eyes, as if it had seen her soul, and its eyes glowed with a brilliant yellow light.
Alyssa's will could no longer sustain her soul. Just when she thought it would dissipate in the next second, it suddenly stabilized. Protected by a barrier, it began to rapidly race across the skies above Lustria. She saw more bizarre beings and incomprehensible events. She saw obscure magical patterns, the souls of strange creatures, and the flow of magical winds.
Alyssa in the observatory was still in a daze, and the magical light flowing on the Spring Fruit Egg became even more intense.
Dakuus, Alyssa's family, and Chupakoko looked at Alyssa with concern.
After coming back to her senses, Alyssa collapsed weakly on the ground and began to retch, with the Spring Fruit Egg rolling to the side.
It will be on the shelves tomorrow, _(:з」∠)_
My health is getting worse
