Chapter 121: Suzaku Saint Clan

Qin Chu let out a long breath and followed Mo Daozi away from the cliff to his pavilion.

Arriving in front of Mo Daozi’s pavilion, Qin Chu saw an altar, which must have been recently set up, as it wasn't there before.

“Come over! We still have some time, let’s have a cup of tea together while we wait,” Mo Daozi said, looking at Qin Chu who had stopped.

Qin Chu nodded and sat opposite Mo Daozi at his tea table.

“Qin Chu, now that you have clues about your origins, I hope you can remain steady, diligently improve your strength, and not take any risks; only with strength can you be secure,” Mo Daozi said, pouring Qin Chu a cup of tea from the teapot. This was the first time he had poured tea for Qin Chu, and in the world of Cultivators, there was no custom of an elder pouring tea for a Junior.

“Elder Mo, Qin Chu understands and will not act recklessly. Sixteen or seventeen years have passed, there’s nothing I can’t endure,” Qin Chu nodded.

Mo Daozi patted Qin Chu’s shoulder, “Your current cultivation is already quite good. Of course, compared to true experts, you are still far behind, but you have an advantage, and that is your foundation. You possess both Sword Spirit Realm and Sword Intent simultaneously, which can be said to be unparalleled in the world, because too few people can comprehend the Spirit Realm. I am helpless; perhaps due to my personality, I cannot comprehend Sword Intent, so my achievements in the Dao of the Sword are limited and cannot reach too great a height, but you can. Aside from Sword Intent and Sword Spirit Realm, you have Saint Blood, which is also a natural advantage; your strong body is a manifestation of the power of Saint Blood.”

“Thank you, Elder Mo, for your help and guidance to Qin Chu; Qin Chu will remember it,” Qin Chu nodded.

Elder Mo smiled, “Alright, let’s quietly drink some tea. Later, Elder Ling will come to be our Protector, and tonight, the clues to your origins will be revealed.”

Not long after, Ling Yunzi arrived and sat between Mo Daozi and Qin Chu.

“Divining the secrets of the heavens causes great harm to oneself; it will diminish one’s Luck, and in severe cases, reduce one’s Lifespan! Qin Chu, you must remember Elder Mo’s kindness,” Ling Yunzi said to Qin Chu.

Qin Chu stood up and bowed to Mo Daozi. He only knew that divining the secrets of the heavens came at a cost, but he hadn't realized it was so severe.

“Don’t be nervous; divining the secrets of the heavens when the Seven Star Heavenly Pearl celestial phenomenon appears doesn’t cause much harm to oneself,” Mo Daozi smiled.

As night fell, Mo Daozi stood up and went to the altar, looking at the celestial phenomenon. Qin Chu and Ling Yunzi waited on the side.

As time passed, an hour after dark, the celestial phenomenon changed, and Qin Chu even saw streams of starlight flowing.

“It’s time, Qin Chu, cut your finger and drip a drop of fresh blood onto the altar,” Mo Daozi called out to Qin Chu.

Qin Chu’s body trembled, the Azure Spirit Sword on his back vibrated, unsheathing half a foot. Qin Chu waved his left hand towards the back of his neck, his finger touching the blade, and then a drop of fresh blood fell into the center of the altar.

As Mo Daozi took out several Spirit Stones and embedded them around the altar, the altar lit up.

After the altar lit up, Mo Daozi took out several compasses and continuously placed them around the altar.

At this moment, a blood-red light appeared above the altar. The blood-red light grew stronger and stronger, and then some scenes actually appeared within the blood-red light.

Qin Chu saw himself, practicing his sword yesterday.

Mo Daozi’s body moved around the altar, each step cautious, his arms waving, and streams of Origin Qi energy continued to be sent into the altar.

At this point, the scenes within the blood-red light rapidly reversed, or even jumped, and Qin Chu could no longer see them clearly.

After the scenes in the blood-red light jumped more than a dozen times, they became a little clearer again. In the scene, an old man led a child, playing in the mountains. Qin Chu recognized one of them; the old man was the grandfather who had raised him for fourteen years.

“Not enough!” Mo Daozi’s body continued to move, and energy continued to be sent into the altar.

The scene began to reverse; the walking child became an infant, followed by a solitary grave, then a battle, where a woman in white robes fought against several people.

The strange thing was that the woman in white robes held a swaddling cloth in her left arm, and the scene continued to reverse.

Qin Chu really wanted to see that battle, but he knew it was useless to watch, because it was just a process; he couldn't see the identity of the woman in white robes, nor could he see where he came from.

As the scene reversed, a bamboo forest appeared, and a bloody battle unfolded, with a man and a woman fighting against several people.

The man, dressed in a green robe, wielded a halberd that swept across all directions; the woman in white robes held a long sword, her Sword Qi crisscrossing.

“Qin Chu, this is the limit; we can only watch from here,” Mo Daozi called out to Qin Chu.

Qin Chu nodded. At this point, the scene was no longer reversing but moving forward at a normal speed.

The bloody battle was incredibly fierce. Because the man in the green robe was too strong, everyone began to focus their attacks on the woman in white robes, or rather, on the swaddling cloth in her arms.

The woman in white robes was in danger. The man in the green robe stood in front of her, but being constrained, his body was repeatedly struck, and blood splattered.

After being struck by a fierce saber in the back, the man in the green robe let out a roar. The halberd in his hand was inserted beneath the feet of the woman in white robes, then with a powerful thrust, he flung the woman in white robes away. At this moment, several iron chains appeared out of thin air, binding the man in the green robe’s limbs, locking him in place.

Behind the woman in white robes, who was flying through the air, a huge fiery Vermilion Bird phantom appeared. Then, with two flashes, she flew away from the battlefield.

A fierce bloody battle ended, followed by a chase, and the final battlefield was in a canyon.

Qin Chu recognized the terrain of the canyon area; it was where his solitary grave was located.

Several people surrounded the woman in white robes. One of the black-clad women’s swords pierced through the woman’s left arm, entering the swaddling cloth she held in her left arm.

The woman in white robes roared to the sky. Although no sound was emitted, Qin Chu saw the grief in her eyes. Then, her raven hair instantly turned white, and she then recklessly killed the people who were chasing her, the cost being two long swords embedded in her body.

The woman in white robes opened the swaddling cloth, and after feeling the infant’s breath, tears streamed down her face, filled with sorrow!

Re-wrapping the swaddling cloth, the woman in white robes swung her long sword, and a stone coffin appeared. She placed the swaddling cloth into the stone coffin, then buried it…

Mo Daozi spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, and then the scene dispersed.

“Qin Chu, this is all we can do,” Mo Daozi said, looking at Qin Chu.

“Thank you, Elder Mo,” Qin Chu’s face was filled with sadness, for his heart ached.

After seeing those scenes, Qin Chu’s heart was incredibly painful. The battle sabers that struck the man in the green robe, the long swords that pierced the woman, it was as if they had struck him, causing him immense pain.

“Senior Brother, you should rest first,” Ling Yunzi helped Mo Daozi into the pavilion.

Looking at the altar, Qin Chu didn’t know why such a bloody scene would appear. Who were the man in the green robe and the woman in white robes to him? It could be said that to protect him and keep him alive, they paid a heavy price. Originally, they could have avoided injury, but because of his entanglement, both were repeatedly severely wounded.

As Qin Chu was thinking, Ling Yunzi came out, “Qin Chu, Senior Brother said that the woman is from the Vermilion Bird Saint Clan.”
