Chapter 122: Spirit Dance is coming

“It’s good to have clues.” Qin Chu nodded. Although the clues were not very detailed, there was at least a direction, and further investigation would reveal more.

“You go back and rest first, don’t let your mind be disturbed. When Elder Mo recovers a bit, he will tell you about the situation. He is the person in our Azure Cloud Sect who knows the outside world best,” Ling Yunzi said to Qin Chu.

Bowing to Mo Daozi’s pavilion, Qin Chu turned and left.

With his mind full of those sorrowful scenes, Qin Chu didn't know how he returned to the Broken Cliff.

Before leaving the mountains, Qin Chu thought he was adopted by the old man, and he had no feelings for his Family. After learning that he had Family, Qin Chu’s feelings for them were also very faint, because it was a blank slate; he couldn't even imagine what it would be like to have feelings. But today, he saw the tragic and sorrowful, the green-robed man and the white-shirted woman, for his sake, had disregarded their lives.

“No matter who you are, or who you are to me, I will get back what others inflicted upon you!” Qin Chu waved his arm, and then felt his chest burning intensely. He soaked in the stream downstream of the Broken Cliff for a while before calming down.

After returning to the wooden house, Qin Chu thought for a moment. He felt that some matters should wait until Mo Daozi recovered. Mo Daozi recognized that the woman was from the Vermilion Bird Sacred Family, so he would be able to analyze more.

Unable to calm his mind, Qin Chu practiced his sword frantically in front of the wooden house, intending to use fatigue to regain his composure.

Inside Mo Daozi’s pavilion, Mo Daozi was meditating and healing his injuries. His face was pale, and his condition was not very good. Ling Yunzi was guarding by his side.

It was almost dawn when Mo Daozi finally opened his eyes.

“Senior Brother, how are you?” Ling Yunzi asked, his eyes filled with worry.

“I just lost some Qi and blood. I didn't expect things to be so serious. The main reason is that the matters involved are quite significant, so the backlash was a bit unbearable,” Mo Daozi said.

“Is that woman from the Vermilion Bird Sacred Family?” Ling Yunzi asked.

“Yes, I can confirm she is a member of the Vermilion Bird Sacred Family. When she ran out of the bamboo forest, the fiery bird of energy on her back was the Vermilion Bird Body of the Vermilion Bird Sacred Family. That green-robed man was also a member of a Sacred Family; such violent attacks are beyond ordinary Cultivators,” Mo Daozi nodded.

“That green-robed man and white-shirted woman protected Qin Chu regardless of everything, which shows how important Qin Chu is to them. It’s possible he is their child, which means Qin Chu must be related to the Vermilion Bird Sacred Family,” Ling Yunzi said.

Mo Daozi narrowed his eyes, looking out of the pavilion, “Actually, there’s another important person in the middle—the old man who raised Qin Chu. If I’m not mistaken, his background is even more terrifying. I just can’t understand how a person like him could calmly raise Qin Chu for fourteen years.”

“That black-robed old man has a very significant background?” Ling Yunzi asked Mo Daozi.

“Extremely significant! If he wanted to, he could destroy the forces of the Southern Flame Continent with a wave of his hand. I haven’t met this person, but I’ve heard legends about him. He shouldn't appear in the Southern Flame Continent. In short, this is a very deep whirlpool; I don't know if Qin Chu can handle it!” Mo Daozi sighed.

Ling Yunzi said nothing. He had originally thought Qin Chu was just a lost child of that Sacred Blood Family, but now it was clearly not the case. The target of those black-clothed men was Qin Chu, clearly intending to cut the grass by the roots. This was too ruthless, considering that Qin Chu was only an infant at the time.

“Bring him over later. I will tell him the details. The battle in that vision was too bloody, too tragic, and too sorrowful. It must have had a huge impact on him,” Mo Daozi said.

In front of the Broken Cliff of Azure Bamboo Peak, Qin Chu Cultivated until he was utterly exhausted.

Lying on the ground, Qin Chu looked at the sky. The feeling of heartache lingered. The green-robed man and white-shirted woman had sacrificed too much for him. Were they his Family? Were they really?

Ling Yunzi arrived and quietly watched Qin Chu. He knew Qin Chu had suffered a great blow.

“Get up! What kind of state is this? A man, no matter what he encounters, must face it with a smile,” Ling Yunzi said after watching Qin Chu for a while.

Nodding, Qin Chu stood up. He knew that the path still had to be walked.

“Let’s go, we’re going to see Elder Mo. He has something to tell you,” Ling Yunzi led Qin Chu to Mo Daozi’s pavilion.

In front of Mo Daozi’s pavilion, the altar was gone, and everything was as it used to be, except for Mo Daozi’s somewhat pale face.

“Qin Chu, I can tell you based on the deductions. Normally, using your blood essence for deduction can trace back to your birth, but because the content involved is so vast, there are limits. The bamboo forest we saw was the limit; we couldn't find any clues before that. That green-robed man had strong combat power and was very brave; ordinary Cultivators couldn’t do that. He should be from a Sacred Family, but he didn’t display his innate abilities, so it’s hard to determine his origin. However, the woman’s origin can be confirmed; when she left that bamboo forest, what she displayed should have been the Vermilion Bird Body of the Vermilion Bird Sacred Family. The clues should be with the Vermilion Bird Family. Other than that, it’s hard to say. This is all I can help you with,” Mo Daozi said to Qin Chu.

“Thank you, Elder Mo, for your help to Qin Chu,” Qin Chu bowed to Elder Mo.

“Next, you must remain steady. Your background involves a great deal; it’s a huge whirlpool. If you jump in now, you probably won’t even stir up a ripple,” Mo Daozi said, looking at Qin Chu.

“This Disciple understands,” Qin Chu let out a breath, feeling a bit suppressed.

Mo Daozi then said that he would recover, and then take Qin Chu to participate in the Four Sects’ Martial Arts Competition.

Qin Chu nodded. Although he knew the clues to his background, some things still had to be done.

Leaving Mo Daozi’s pavilion and arriving at the Azure Bamboo Peak’s Sect gate, Qin Chu saw a familiar person: Qian Lingwu.

“You’re here!” Qin Chu greeted her.

“Uh… are you not happy I’m here?” Qin Chu’s mood was low, which made Qian Lingwu a little puzzled. She felt that Qin Chu shouldn't be cold towards her.

“I’m not unhappy. Let’s go!” Qin Chu led Qian Lingwu to the Azure Bamboo Peak’s servant compound, then asked Er Pang to tell someone to get him some food and wine, specifically emphasizing more wine.

Upon arriving at the wooden house, Qin Chu invited Qian Lingwu to sit down, then boiled water to make tea.

“Qin Chu, your mood isn’t right. What have I done to displease you?” Qian Lingwu asked, looking at Qin Chu.

“I’m really happy you came. My mood is indeed not very good, and I need to adjust it,” Qin Chu said.

“What exactly happened? Can you tell me? Perhaps I can give you some advice!” Qian Lingwu said, looking at Qin Chu.

Qin Chu brewed a pot of tea, “First, tell me about yourself. Why did you come?”

“Why can’t I come? I came to have some exchanges with the Azure Cloud Sect, and most importantly, to see you,” Qian Lingwu said, looking at Qin Chu.
