He reassured himself, saying,
“It’s nothing. This is the result of my hard training over the past three years.”
He spent the rest of the day testing the capabilities of the Wind Clone.
Unlike a Shadow Clone, it doesn’t transmit memories, but it also doesn’t require a large amount of Chakra.
Since it utilizes the surrounding air, Feng Zheng guessed that this was the most Chakra-efficient Clone Technique.
In just a few hours, he successfully created ten Wind Clones. Besides the Shadow Clone, it could perform all the Ninjutsu the main body could, and it would dissipate upon being attacked.
After experimentation, Feng Zheng found that in a head-on confrontation, the Wind Clone was more effective than the Shadow Clone.
That day, he repeatedly had the urge to return to the Library to learn another Ninjutsu. But he didn’t act on it, as it might attract attention.
He sighed, thinking,
“I should find a way to steal those scrolls!”
Satisfied with his progress, he returned home.
Along the way, he had a peculiar thought about the Ninjutsu he had learned. He thought,
“Among the six Ninjutsu I’ve mastered, three are Clone Techniques!”
The next day, he read and learned the Gale Technique.
He first had to gather Chakra, then expel it from his mouth in the form of a gust of wind.
After several attempts, he was able to correctly perform this Ninjutsu.
This Ninjutsu was indeed harmless.
When he tried it on a tree, it didn't cause any damage to the tree, apart from some old leaves falling off.
After an hour of practice, he could already cover up his footprints.
It took several hours of practice to use this Ninjutsu to change the direction of the wind in a small area.
But he didn’t know if he succeeded or failed in covering up his scent. He decided to find a time later to have someone from the Inuzuka Clan check it.
On the third day, he attempted to learn the Wind Levitation Technique. Although he didn't succeed the first time, he still correctly performed this Ninjutsu within ten minutes.
He was able to levitate a single leaf about 5 meters high in the air. He spent half an hour doing the same with a pebble.
By the end of the day, he could levitate a stone 15 centimeters in diameter 15 meters high and hold it for 78 seconds.
He saw on the scroll that this Ninjutsu could lift a huge rock a hundred meters into the air.
He guessed that this shouldn’t be the limit. So, he could continue to practice this Ninjutsu to his heart's content in the future.
On the fourth day, he tried the Projectile Control Technique. He finally encountered a challenge. This Ninjutsu required extremely fine control over the wind.
He created a Wind Clone, had it launch Shuriken, and tried to control it.
A few hours later, he successfully changed the direction of the Shuriken but couldn't control it.
Since the Shuriken would spin, he felt this made the Ninjutsu more difficult, so he decided to try using a kunai.
This greatly reduced the difficulty, and eventually, he successfully maintained good control over the thrown kunai.
To better master this Ninjutsu, he continued to practice for another three days.
After these days, he felt that his mastery of the wind element seemed to have deepened.
The next day, he tried the Wind Stealing Technique.
Attracting objects closer to you by having the wind blow towards you proved to be a challenge.
The wind blowing towards himself was the first obstacle.
Secondly, if he could create a strong enough airflow, he himself would be affected.
This problem made Feng Zheng wonder if he could create wind paths around himself to perform this Ninjutsu.
He left this idea for future consideration.
He spent another three days learning and becoming familiar with this Ninjutsu.
Finally, he returned the Shadow Clone scroll to Hiruzen.
---
Feng Zheng only took ten days to learn five E-rank Wind Release Ninjutsu.
With one month of vacation remaining, he began training in D-rank Wind Release Ninjutsu.
He re-planned his training schedule, thinking,
“Originally, the plan was to learn by order of importance, but since I’m learning so quickly, I might as well learn by ease of difficulty. So, I’ll learn Breakthrough Technique first, followed by Dust Cloud Technique and Gale Surge.”
After obtaining all the necessary materials from the Library, he began training in the Breakthrough Technique.
The initial process was very similar to the Gale Technique. The only difference was that he had to gather a larger amount of Chakra.
The resulting wind force needed to be stronger, and the wind had to be sharper to cause damage.
The first few attempts yielded results similar to the Gale Technique, but he also clearly saw where he needed to improve.
In just fifteen minutes, he exhaled a stronger gust of wind from his mouth. He noted in his mind,
“It’s not very powerful yet, but if used in conjunction with Fire Release Ninjutsu, its destructive power should be very good.”
In short, this Ninjutsu still required a lot of training.
The process of gathering Chakra and transforming it into wind should be faster. More Chakra should also be gathered to increase the damage caused.
He practiced for 7 days until he got the hang of the Ninjutsu.
He also tested it on a poor tree, which resulted in it losing most of its leaves and many branches. He thought,
“This is already very good. While it might not be fatal, it can easily injure most Genin.”
The next day, he grabbed the Dust Cloud Technique scroll and committed it to memory.
This Ninjutsu was also very simple. Its process was similar to the Breakthrough Technique, except that one had to focus attention on the ground to kick up the dust.
It also had some characteristics of the Wind Levitation Technique, which ensured the dust cloud lasted longer.
He raised a dust cloud on his first attempt, but it lasted for a very short time.
It took several hours to correctly incorporate the wind levitation part.
But by the end of the day, significant progress had been made.
Next, Feng Zheng began training in the Gale Surge Technique. This Ninjutsu was almost the opposite of the Wind Stealing Technique.
Here, he had to refine the surrounding air with Chakra and then suddenly release it three meters in one direction.
To some extent, it was similar to Nagato’s Almighty Push. Of course, its power was very limited.
This Ninjutsu didn’t provide very good defensive effects. However, the reason Feng Zheng learned this Ninjutsu was that he had some ideas about it.
The first was to increase the range and power of this Ninjutsu, and the second was to be able to release wind in all directions around him.
This would make this Ninjutsu extremely destructive.
If the range and power were increased, it would be very suitable for causing trouble on the battlefield, and all-directional release would be very helpful if he was surrounded by enemies.
He only took another day to learn this Ninjutsu and train it to an acceptable level.
The next day, he began to learn the Wind Blast Technique. Later, he used this Ninjutsu as training for the Rasengan.
Here, he had to gather wind, shape it into a sphere, and infuse a bit of Chakra into it. This was the difference between it and the Rasengan.
The Rasengan was purely composed of Chakra, while this Ninjutsu was mainly composed of wind, with only a small portion of Chakra.
Due to the smaller amount of Chakra, these spheres could be launched at enemies.
Since he was already training in the Rasengan, this Ninjutsu also became easier to learn.
Within a few hours, he performed this Ninjutsu correctly for the first time.
