Chapter 83: A Change in Mindset
Kim Minju was puzzled, and the Director of Trainees present was equally confused.
How could Kim Minju be compared to Zhang Yuanying and Liu Zhimin?
Those two were market-recognized twin stars, top-tier idols that every company would covet.
In what way was Kim Minju like them?
The YG Director of Trainees chuckled disdainfully. This guy was getting addicted to finding hidden gems.
The S.M Director of Trainees frowned, looking at Kim Minju, then at Jiang Shu's expectant face, and then back at Kim Minju.
He still couldn't understand why Jiang Shu would say such a thing.
Not only were others confused, but Minister Kim also didn't know why his President nim would say such a thing.
What the heck?
"Can I really do it?" Kim Minju asked Jiang Shu blankly.
"Just join our DM Entertainment!" Jiang Shu said decisively.
Kim Minju certainly couldn't compare to Liu Zhimin or Zhang Yuanying, or rather, the original Kim Minju couldn't, but the current Kim Minju could.
It wasn't because of IZONE, nor was it because of her adaptive bond; it was all Zhou Ziyu!
The progenitor of the Yu-line idols was still unknown, probably just a nobody somewhere. So, as one of the only two Yu-line idols, and a Korean at that, what if Kim Minju debuted first?
This was Jiang Shu's greatest confidence in saying that!
Besides Jiang Shu, no one could understand his confidence.
But clearly, Kim Minju, as the person involved, was swayed by Jiang Shu.
"Thank you for the judges' recognition. I choose DM Entertainment," Kim Minju said, bowing.
"What a pity," S.M shook his head regretfully, then looked at Jiang Shu, "Congratulations, Chairman Jiang."
Jiang Shu smiled immediately when he saw Kim Minju was willing to join DM Entertainment.
"Haha!" Jiang Shu reached out and patted Minister Kim, "For the next two days of recruitment, you can recruit according to the applicant list I gave you."
After speaking, Jiang Shu leaned down and whispered into Minister Kim's ear, "You must secure Hwang Yeji this afternoon. Try your best to invite the remaining candidates, but if anyone tries to cause trouble, let them have them. Hwang Yeji must be signed!"
The most desired Kim Minju was already secured. The rest, besides Hwang Yeji, were not urgently needed; it didn't matter.
"Understood."
Jiang Shu walked around the judges' table and came before Kim Minju.
"Let's go. I'll take you and the previous two back to the company."
"Understood." Kim Minju looked at Jiang Shu in surprise. The President nim was actually going to personally send them back to the company to sign?
Under the puzzled gazes of the Directors of Trainees, Jiang Shu left with Kim Minju.
With Kim Minju, Shin Yuna, and Cao Rouli in tow, Jiang Shu acted as the driver, taking the three back to DM Entertainment's new building.
The DM Entertainment building had been in use for half a month. The original office floor had been vacated, and the landlord was quite reasonable, only deducting the remaining rent according to the contract and returning the deposit to the company.
After taking the three, Kim Minju, to the second-floor trainee area and arranging for them to sign their contracts, Jiang Shu took the elevator, preparing to go upstairs.
Ding.
The elevator doors opened, revealing Bae Joo-hyun's familiar face.
Both Jiang Shu and Bae Joo-hyun were startled when they saw each other, but Bae Joo-hyun was the first to react, bowing to Jiang Shu.
"Good afternoon, President nim."
"When did you get back to the company?" Jiang Shu walked into the elevator, pressed the fifth floor, and asked casually.
Then he noticed that Bae Joo-hyun had also pressed the fifth floor.
"Just arrived, I was about to go upstairs to hand the documents to President Li," Bae Joo-hyun explained.
"What documents?"
Bae Joo-hyun opened her bag and handed it to Jiang Shu before the elevator doors opened.
"President nim!"
"President nim."
Several staff members outside the door greeted Jiang Shu when they saw him in the elevator.
DM Entertainment had no rule against going to the top floor; employees could move freely between floors.
Many entertainment companies do not allow entry to the top floor.
"Hmm." Jiang Shu looked at the documents in his hand and nodded casually.
These were S.M's documents, some plans for Red Velvet's early marketing. It should be the final marketing strategy Docking between the two parties.
Red Velvet was set to debut in two months, and marketing preparations needed to begin.
He quickly glanced at them and then handed them to Bae Joo-hyun.
"Why are you here to deliver the documents?" Jiang Shu asked.
"I came to see the company's new building," Bae Joo-hyun said with a slightly embarrassed smile.
Jiang Shu chuckled at her words.
"Then have a good look around."
"Understood."
Waving his hand, Jiang Shu strode away.
Bae Joo-hyun stood at the elevator door, watching Jiang Shu leave until his figure disappeared. Only then did she take the documents and walk towards Li Duohui's office.
...
"President nim?" Choi Ji-yeon was startled when she saw Jiang Shu. "Why are you back?"
"I showed Minister Kim an example; let him handle the rest," Jiang Shu replied casually. "How are IU's debut pre-promotions coming along?"
"Half of it has been executed according to plan, but the response isn't very good," Choi Ji-yeon followed Jiang Shu into the office. "It's still difficult for us to achieve the same level of buzz as established entertainment companies when promoting new groups."
"It's fine. Just do what we need to do," Jiang Shu said, opening the refrigerator and taking out a can of cola. "Bring me IVE's schedule."
"Understood," Choi Ji-yeon replied and turned to leave.
Jiang Shu chugged the cold cola, drinking about half of it before Choi Ji-yeon returned with an A4 paper.
"President nim, this is IVE's schedule for the past week," she said, handing it to Jiang Shu. "Because their comeback is approaching, their originally packed schedule has been reduced a bit to avoid affecting this comeback."
Jiang Shu looked at the schedule. The schedule was indeed much lighter. What was once a dense schedule from morning until late night was now only two or three activities a day.
No wonder the 'after-work baby' Zhang Yuanying's clock-out time had changed from eleven or twelve at night to five or six in the afternoon.
Looking at IVE's last schedule for today, it was a reshoot for one of Liu Zhimin's brand endorsement commercials, starting at four o'clock and expected to finish around five or six.
If he waited until the company closed, he might run into Liu Zhimin returning to the dorm.
Thinking of this, Jiang Shu couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.
Ever since Liu Zhimin said those audacious words last time, Jiang Shu's mindset had also undergone some subtle changes.
After all, he wasn't the original person. Even though he adapted to his new identity quickly, his mental transformation was still a bit slow.
He looked at the schedule in his hand, casually placed it on the desk, and waved his hand towards Choi Ji-yeon.
Choi Ji-yeon understood, bowed to Jiang Shu, and exited the office.
Holding the cola, he pulled open the balcony door and stepped out onto the office balcony.
A wave of heat washed over him, and the scorching sunlight stung his skin.
After standing in silence for a few seconds, he returned to the office.
Damn, it's hot!
