Chapter 84: Internal Conflict
Night fell.
The late summer night still held a high temperature, but compared to the direct sunlight during the day, the warm evening breeze brought the essence of summer.
After having dinner outside, Jiang Shu drove home. His Panamera had already been sold to the 4S dealership.
Porsche has always offered used car sales and buyback services, which they call ‘Approved Used Cars.’ While the prices naturally can't compare to independent used car dealers, it's convenient and hassle-free.
Jiang Shu wasn't short on an extra 100,000 to 200,000 won, so instead of letting it sit in the garage collecting dust, it was better to sell it sooner.
The price had already plummeted due to the model refresh, and keeping it for a few more years would only make it cheaper.
That's how it is with cars; once a model is refreshed, the price plummets.
He parked his newly bought GLS in the parking spot. Compared to the Panamera coupe, this GLS500 was much larger. Its height and width were on a completely different scale. When he first got it, Jiang Shu was quite unaccustomed to driving it, but now, after more than half a month, he had gotten used to it.
Bang.
He closed the car door, and just as he was about to lock it, he heard movement behind him.
"President?"
Jiang Shu paused, turned around, and saw Liu Zhimin, wearing frog-eye sunglasses and holding an ice pop in her mouth.
Jiang Shu instinctively blinked.
Is Seoul that small?
He had been wondering earlier today if he would run into Liu Zhimin on his way back, and he actually did?
"Good evening, Xiao Liu." After a brief moment of Stunned, Jiang Shu greeted Liu Zhimin with a cheerful smile.
"Good evening, President." Liu Zhimin bowed slightly to Jiang Shu, then took off her frog-eye sunglasses. Her small, palm-sized face was full of curiosity.
"Is this your new car?"
Familiar informal speech. It seemed she rarely used honorifics with him?
"Mm, what do you think?" Jiang Shu reached out and patted the hood, asking with a smile.
"It's too big. It's not as good-looking as the previous Porsche." Liu Zhimin shook her head, speaking frankly.
"But this car is much more comfortable to ride in than my previous one."
"Oh." Liu Zhimin responded somewhat perfunctorily. It was clear she wasn't very interested in cars.
That was normal; not many girls were interested in cars to begin with.
"Have you eaten?" Jiang Shu looked at Liu Zhimin, casually locking the car as he asked.
"No, I don't eat dinner. Snacks are fine." Liu Zhimin raised the plastic bag in her hand. "I just bought snacks at the convenience store in the complex. Do you want some?"
"No thanks, I just finished eating. I'm not hungry at all."
Liu Zhimin tilted her head, looked at Jiang Shu, then at the building entrance to one side.
"Are you going upstairs?"
"What for?"
"I want to go for a walk. Do you want to come? If not, help me take this upstairs," Liu Zhimin said.
"You can take it up yourself. I'll go for a walk with you," Jiang Shu said, shaking his head.
"Then just put it in your car for now," Liu Zhimin said, extending the plastic bag in her hand.
"Put it in yourself." Jiang Shu unlocked the car.
"Oh." Liu Zhimin opened the car door, placed the plastic bag in the back seat, and then closed the door.
Taking the ice pop into her hand, she waved her hand grandly.
"Let's Go!"
Jiang Shu watched Liu Zhimin's slender back, a slight smile on his lips, and stepped to follow her.
As a high-end residential complex under capitalist management, although the property management company collected various miscellaneous fees such as greening fees, personnel service fees, and cleaning fees in addition to property fees to increase revenue, the management was indeed very thorough.
There weren't many residents, but every part of the complex was spotless, a stark contrast to the garbage often seen on the streets of Seoul.
Security personnel, cleaners, and landscape maintenance workers would all bow and greet residents with "Hello, resident" upon seeing them. The service was completely on par with a five-star hotel. Putting aside other things, the emotional value was maximized, making you willingly open your wallet.
Jiang Shu and Liu Zhimin walked side by side under the bright streetlights. Although it was night, the comprehensive lighting in the complex ensured that the roads and their sides were clearly visible.
The bright light of the incandescent lamps fell on their shoulders. Jiang Shu and Liu Zhimin, one on the left and one on the right, looked like a couple after work, taking a stroll together after dinner, enjoying one of the few moments they had together in the day.
"This is the first time I've walked around the complex since I moved here," Liu Zhimin said to Jiang Shu, looking at the greenery and scenery on both sides without turning her head.
"Is that so?" Jiang Shu turned to glance at Liu Zhimin. "You should still like this complex, right?"
"Of course." Liu Zhimin replied, "My manager Ouni said that our dorm was rented by you at your own expense?"
"Mm." Jiang Shu nodded. "It was something I promised Yuan Ying. As the President, I naturally can't break my word."
"At first, I didn't feel much, but after talking with some seniors, I realized how fortunate it is to debut under DM Entertainment and be an idol under you, President," Liu Zhimin said with emotion.
She was just straightforward. IVE's treatment compared to other groups was simply supreme.
A luxurious river-view penthouse as a dorm? Which group has ever had such treatment?
"I've said it before, you and the company achieve success together. The company's revival is inseparable from your efforts."
"As major contributors, some rewards are naturally a given."
Liu Zhimin didn't respond but brought up another issue.
"Yuan Ying and Yunzhen have a conflict."
It wasn't that she was complaining, but as the leader, she had an obligation to inform the company about internal matters they couldn't resolve.
"Why do they have a conflict?" Jiang Shu asked, puzzled.
Why would a hanger-on have a conflict with the two centers?
"Yunzhen has always had some opinions about the positioning the company gave her. She believes that if the company could concentrate resources on her as they do on us, she could achieve the same level as us."
"Susu Oni advised her twice, and she didn't bring it up again. But last night, Yuan Ying and she argued about this. Yunzhen felt that Yuan Ying looked down on her, and they parted unhappily."
Liu Zhimin briefly described the origin of the conflict.
"So... did Xiao Yuan look down on her?"
Liu Zhimin stopped walking, and Jiang Shu also stopped when he saw her.
Liu Zhimin looked up at Jiang Shu.
"Yes."
Jiang Shu looked at Liu Zhimin, puzzled.
"Xiao Yuan doesn't seem like the type to bully others by relying on her power."
"But she won't tolerate anyone," Liu Zhimin retorted.
Jiang Shu was speechless.
That was true.
If someone tried to ride roughshod over her, Zhang Yuanying wasn't a soft and cute girl like Kim Minju; she would definitely spray you back.
"I understand this matter."
"How do you plan to handle it?"
