Chapter 44: harvest farm

Pawmi was sent flying by Flame Wheel and landed on the ground, gasping for air, unable to get up for a long time. Several spots on its orange fur were singed.

At this moment, Pai Pa seized the opportunity to shout, “That’s enough!”

“I lost.” Nemo’s focused aura dissipated, and her expression was momentarily bewildered. She didn't even have time to dwell on the emotions of her first battle defeat as she quickly ran to Pawmi, picked it up, and said softly, “You worked hard.”

Although it was a practice battle, Nemo knew very well that if the battle continued, Pawmi would definitely lose.

“You did well. Let’s go back and have an extra meal.” Luo Mu bent down and petted Growlithe, then walked over to Nemo and praised her, “It’s hard to imagine this is your first Pokemon battle. Your command throughout the battle didn’t have any fatal errors.”

“Teacher?” Nemo’s eyes widened.

“However,” Luo Mu’s tone shifted. While examining Pawmi’s injuries, he pointed out, “You currently have two issues that urgently need improvement.”

“First, Pawmi’s Thunder Shock has too long of a wind-up, and it closes its eyes during the process, not aiming properly at Growlithe at all, making it too easy to dodge.”

“Second, Pawmi’s strength is severely lacking, which is why Growlithe was able to withstand its attacks and retaliate.”

“Before my classes begin, you can try to train in these two areas.”

Luo Mu’s words made Nemo fall into deep thought. In just a few short exchanges of battle, had the teacher seen so many problems?

Luo Mu smiled and said, “Don’t rush to understand it all at once. First, take Pawmi to the infirmary for treatment, then slowly think about it.”

Luo Mu’s reminder brought Nemo back to reality. Seeing Pawmi’s injuries in her arms, Nemo felt very guilty.

After a battle, one should prioritize treating their partner. Other matters can be considered later!

Nemo gratefully bowed slightly, then greeted Pai Pa, and rushed directly to the infirmary.

Pai Pa, who had walked over, murmured, “She’s truly like the wind…”

“Her personality is just like that.” Luo Mu picked up Growlithe and walked over with a smile.

“Brother Luo Mu?” Pai Pa nervously averted his gaze.

“In school, you should call me Teacher!” Luo Mu patted Pai Pa, making him stumble, and ignored his slightly resentful gaze, asking, “How was your talk with your parents?”

“It was… alright.” The corners of Pai Pa’s downturned mouth curved slightly upwards.

Pai Pa recalled that after he returned home, Ao Lin and Fu Tu, surprisingly, slept in his room, on the same bed. The two of them slowly recounted their dreams to him. They also promised that even if their upcoming busy work would prevent them from returning home often throughout the year, they would still try their best to keep in touch with him.

“Oh~?” Luo Mu observed Pai Pa’s expression, deep in thought.

It seems this matter is slowly changing for the better.

Pai Pa felt a bit uncomfortable under Luo Mu’s gaze and changed the subject, “Speaking of which, is Teacher Luo Mu’s Growlithe the one that hatched from that Pokemon Egg?”

Luo Mu nodded, “Yes, this little guy took quite a bit of effort from me. It just hatched three days ago.”

“Three days…”

Pai Pa’s eye twitched slightly. This Growlithe only hatched three days ago and already has this kind of combat power? Good thing Nemo doesn’t know.

Pai Pa tentatively extended his hand in front of Growlithe, and seeing that it had no intention of attacking him, he gently stroked it. Feeling a somewhat peculiar sensation, Pai Pa murmured, “It’s a bit different from the Growlithe I remember.”

Luo Mu smiled, not directly answering Pai Pa, and reminded him, “Remember to tell Dr. Olin and them that the Pokemon Egg has hatched, so they don’t have to worry about it anymore.”

Pai Pa didn't think much of it and nodded, “Okay, I’ll mention it tonight when they call.”

As he finished speaking, Pai Pa suddenly realized. Seeing Luo Mu’s knowing expression, how could he not know that Luo Mu was trying to trick him!

A cunning smile appeared on Luo Mu’s face. He freed a hand and poked Pai Pa, “Aren’t you two on good terms now? You’re still hiding it from me.”

Immediately, Pai Pa’s face turned beet red, and he said exasperatedly, “You tricked me!”

After teasing Pai Pa for a while, and after he ran off exasperated, Luo Mu borrowed several books related to planting and breeding from the library.

According to the content of the faculty meeting, his first class was scheduled for three days later. Although most teachers, even without classes, would stay at Orange Academy, Luo Mu was clearly not that kind of person.

Luo Mu, who kept work and life very separate, left Orange Academy with a few books. He then took advantage of Growlithe's momentum to have Ceruledge train with it in the wild for a while.

Growlithe’s training content was simple: besides basic physical training, it was dodging Ceruledge’s watered-down slashes.

Holding the panting Growlithe, Luo Mu summoned Dragonite and flew towards Pingdie Town.

The second day after leaving Orange Academy.

In front of the Farming Area, the entire farm's members came out in full force.

“Heave-ho!”

Luo Mu placed the five large baskets he had prepared in advance in front of the experimental fields, scanning the 14 main members of the day like a military parade.

Luo Mu, full of emotion, spread his arms and spoke, “Today is the day of our farm’s harvest, and at the same time, it is the day that declares our farm will truly be able to operate!”

The dozen or so Pokemon excitedly cried out, turning their gaze towards the experimental fields.

In the five experimental fields, there were strawberries, vividly red and dripping, glistening dark green cucumbers, plump cabbages, eggplants, and tomatoes.

Each crop had yielded abundant Berry under the care of Serperior and Eldegoss.

Luo Mu strolled to the edge of the strawberry field. The rich fruity aroma wafted towards him. He picked a strawberry and slowly put it into his mouth to taste.

The taste was a perfectly balanced sweet and sour sensation. The tender flesh contained some juice, and after a careful taste, there was a hint of lingering sweetness.

Luo Mu’s eyes lit up. He immediately bent down and began to harvest the strawberries in this small experimental field.

The other Pokemon followed suit.

Serperior’s Vine Whip gently coiled up cucumbers one by one and placed them into the large baskets. Swampert and Dragonite picked up cabbages that were still glistening with water.

Every Pokemon’s face was beaming with the joy of the harvest, and with anticipation for the meals Luo Mu had promised to make from these crops.

Working together, in just over an hour, the five large baskets were piled high.

After picking the last eggplant and placing it in the basket, Luo Mu noticed that each Pokemon had more or less some mud on them. A smile appeared on his face as he said, “Everyone, go to Thunderclap Lake to wash yourselves first. I’ll take care of the cooking.”

The dozen or so Pokemon cheered.
