Chapter 40: Silver Snake

Skarmory was ambushed by Flamethrower again, and now he was incredibly furious.

He had to make that damned Torkoal pay!

"Ga!"

Skarmory gave another command, and four Magnemite surrounded Torkoal, releasing electricity, controlling Torkoal to fly up.

Although it hurt, it was still a taste of the joy of Electromagnetic Levitation; a certain Pokémon with the Sunlight Trait, didn't know if it would be envious.

Nosepass wasn't about to master Electromagnetic Levitation, but with the electricity from these eight Magnemite, he might be able to grasp it naturally.

"Nosepass, battle ready."

As soon as he appeared, Nosepass's body flickered with bright yellow lightning.

The eight Magnemite in the air all rotated, pointing the Magnet on one side towards Nosepass.

With confusion, the Magnemite all released currents to test.

The strong current directly dragged Nosepass into the air.

Flying halfway, Nosepass suddenly released a strong current, and the Magnemite were immediately attracted, all sticking to Nosepass's body with a thud.

They crashed heavily onto the ground together.

The Magnemite frantically released silver-white currents, dispersing the magnetic field that had captured them, then quickly moved away from Nosepass.

The Magnemite didn't know what happened, but the abnormal force that captured them appeared after Nosepass showed up, so, staying away from Nosepass was the right thing to do.

Lili ~

The Magnemite told Skarmory that they could help Skarmory deal with others, but they would not approach Nosepass again.

On the other side, Skarmory was being chased by Fearow, looking very disheveled.

It was good that the Magnemite were willing to take over Fearow.

Skarmory flapped his wings, exchanging positions with the four Magnemite.

Dense silver-white currents danced wildly in the sky; after hitting Fearow, Fearow let out a wail, and his body went limp, falling downwards.

"Fearow! Pull yourself together!"

If it weren't for Kebi's shout, which invigorated Fearow, a surge of Power emerged in his body, and he flapped his wings to stop his descent.

Fearow was very intelligent, but this intelligence made him very vulnerable to attacks of unfavorable attributes; a few errant currents had already defeated him.

"Nosepass, use Rock Barrage on Skarmory; Seedot, Treecko, attack the Magnemite and rescue Torkoal."

The four Magnemite worked together, shocking Torkoal into the air again.

Torkoal was too straightforward as a Pokémon, just standing there breathing fire, and the Magnemite caught him every time.

Since Torkoal helped so righteously, Kebi couldn't just stand by.

"Torkoal, don't stand still, run and attack."

Skarmory was having a bad year, hit by a stone projectile fired by Nosepass, and once again let out a shrill howl.

A response immediately came from the sky; hearing two Growl similar to the Skarmory in front of him, Kebi knew that Skarmory had summoned two more Skarmory to assist.

Kebi immediately sent out Piplup and Chimchar to meet the enemy.

Just three Skarmory and eight Magnemite, that's all.

Everything was still under Kebi's control!

They were all just minor characters, and even combined, they were no match for Tyranitar.

"Fearow, Aerial Ace; Piplup, Bubble Beam; you two are to hold back these two newly appeared Skarmory; Seedot, Treecko, restrict Skarmory's movement from the left and right."

"Nosepass, use Power Gem at the right moment. Chimchar, you and Torkoal hold back those eight Magnemite."

First, defeat the first Skarmory that appeared, then deal with the Magnemite, and finally the other two Skarmory.

The enemy's numbers were large, which was a good opportunity for training.

As expected of Steel Valley, there were many excellent Pokémon.

Even the weakest Magnemite were over lv70 20, and their aptitude was green (77/100).

It truly was a place of outstanding people and spirits.

And they all had tempers; Skarmory was battered and teetering, yet he still fought to the death without retreating.

The two Skarmory were firmly held back by Fearow and Piplup, and two Magnemite had also fallen.

Seeing the unfavorable turn of the battle, the two Skarmory shouted in unison.

Buzz buzz buzz...

A group of Magnemite came from the east, and another group of Magnemite came from the west.

Counting them, there were over twenty Magnemite.

Kebi immediately released Tyranitar.

"Stone Edge, knock down the two Skarmory."

Bird Pokémon had good eyesight; if they weren't knocked down, it would be hard to escape.

Magnemite were different from Beedrill; their attacks could be combined, not 1+1, but like 10x10.

Even if he could win, the commotion would be too great, alarming all the Pokémon in Steel Valley, and how could Kebi train in peace then?

A strong dragon does not suppress a local snake, a group of irritable and stubborn steel attribute Pokémon.

Either defeat them or capture them.

Kebi didn't want to choose either of those two options; he chose the third.

Run away!

As soon as Tyranitar's Stone Edge was unleashed, the two Skarmory wailed and fell.

"Piplup, Mist."

After quickly recalling all the other Pokémon, Kebi picked up Piplup, who was still spouting Mist, and turned to run.

"Torkoal, run fast."

Mist enveloped the entire valley, and Kebi quickly ran to a corner.

He took out a camouflage cloth from his backpack, found a pit to hide in, spread the camouflage cloth over it, blending in with the surrounding environment.

When the Mist dissipated, the Magnemite found that all the enemies were gone and angrily scattered to search.

The three Skarmory lay on the ground for a while before flapping their wings and taking flight.

It was unknown whether they were returning to their lair to heal or tracking Kebi and his Pokémon.

Only after confirming that all enemies had left did Kebi emerge from under the camouflage cloth.

Suddenly, the ground began to shake.

Breaking open a large hole, a large snake completely covered in silver-white metal emerged.

He lowered his head and happened to see Kebi rolling up the camouflage cloth.

Kebi squeezed out a small smile, "Hi!"

【Steelix】

【lv70 lv53】

【Trait: Sturdy (Development 0.7)】

【Aptitude: Purple (92/100)】

(Having consumed a large amount of high-quality iron ore and undergone tempering in the iron and fire of the earth's core, this Steelix, having completed its evolution, has strong capture value. Feeding it high-quality alloy and having it delve into the earth's core for tempering can efficiently raise its talent to gold.)

Understood, in the anime, Steelix would be defeated by Torkoal because Steelix burrowed underground to temper his steel body with magma, so he wasn't at full strength to begin with.

It was the same now; Kebi could feel an abnormally scorching aura emanating from Steelix.

Using magma to temper his steel body consumed a lot of Steelix's stamina.

Like Nosepass, even if Steelix was captured, he wouldn't be willing to leave Steel Valley.

This was the most suitable environment for Steelix to grow.

Steelix was originally resting in his cave, recovering from the stamina loss caused by the magma.

But then his subordinate Skarmory and Magnemite were all called out to help.

As the leader, Steelix dragged his injured body to the battlefield.

All he saw was a human.

Steelix directly gave Kebi an early New Year's greeting, hitting Kebi with an Iron Head.

Fortunately, Kebi was agile and quickly jumped back.

This prevented him from being hammered into Kebi paste by Steelix's head.

Piplup quickly sprayed Hydro Pump, hitting Steelix's head and making it tilt, the splashing water sizzling on his steel body.

Steelix roared in pain, and Kebi seized the opportunity to release Tyranitar.

"Tyranitar, Earth Power."

Steelix, however, gave Kebi a deep look, lowered his head, and dug a Dig to retreat.

Torkoal, worried about Kebi and his Pokémon's safety, hadn't run far; hearing movement in the valley, he ran back at top speed.

Seeing Torkoal, Kebi smiled and said:

"Torkoal, thank you for coming to help. I'll treat you to something to eat."

Eating the Pokémon food Kebi made for Chimchar, Torkoal made a sound like boiling water, and out of emotion, spewed a puff of black smoke.

Cough, cough... too emotional. Such a great Pokémon as Torkoal, it's better to leave him for Ash to capture.

Among that group of Magnemite just now, there seemed to be one with purple aptitude.

Kebi planned to use a magnetic field generator to find and capture that Magnemite.

And Steelix, Kebi wanted them all!
