Chapter 3: Surrounded by Stars
Seeing Shi Ziling and his wife break through the Wu King Manor’s Seal, causing a stir in the Imperial Capital, several Old Ancestors were filled with shock and anger.
If others were to learn of what happened at the Wu King Manor, it was unimaginable what kind of blow it would deal to the Wu King Manor’s reputation.
Shi Yi would surely be labeled “cruel” and “vicious,” which would be extremely detrimental to his future path.
Even more terrifying, the Wu King Manor’s protection of Shi Yi’s lineage would lead to them being scorned by the world… How could such a scandal be allowed to spread?
Thinking of this, the four Old Ancestors did not hesitate, using a portion of the Wu King Manor’s foundation to re-Seal the area.
Although powerful individuals from outside had already arrived, they dared not enter rashly without the Wu King Manor’s permission.
Inside the Manor, the Old Ancestors knew they could no longer delay. If it attracted the attention of a Marquis who personally inquired, then this matter could not be concealed.
“Zi Ling, since you are so stubborn, then don’t blame us for being heavy-handed.”
As his voice fell, the Old Ancestors no longer held back, using one terrifying treasure after another, and even rune-covered beast bones. These were ancestral artifacts passed down through the Wu King Manor, and when used with a magic array, their power was immense.
After a fierce confrontation, although Shi Ziling and his wife were at a disadvantage, they did not show signs of defeat. Instead, relying on their youthful vigor, they fought the four elders to a mutual destruction.
“Boom!”
After a loud bang, both sides were sent flying.
The Old Ancestors’ originally rosy complexions were now ashen, and each of them had considerable injuries.
Shi Ziling’s situation was not much better; his tall physique swayed, and crimson blood flowed from the corner of his mouth.
Qin Yining, in order to protect Shi Hao in her arms, also suffered no small injuries, and her clothes were stained with blood.
“Zi Ling, stop. Things have come to this. If you continue fighting and touch the Wu King Manor’s bottom line, I won’t be able to protect you.
Even if you don’t think for others, you must think for Hao’er. Now, he is in need of rescue, and besides you, no one can save him.” A voice sounded in Shi Ziling’s ear, it was the Old Ancestor who sided with his lineage.
Hearing this, he looked at Shi Hao, who was deeply asleep in Qin Yining’s arms, and sighed softly. He knew it was time to end it. Continuing to fight would not yield any good results, nor would it bring about so-called justice. Instead, it would delay the time to save Shi Hao.
Qin Yining had the same thought.
Subsequently, the couple no longer insisted on killing Shi Yi and reclaiming the Supreme Bone that should have belonged to Shi Hao. This was already an impossible task.
The Old Ancestors also did not want to continue fighting, only wishing to quickly quell the matter to avoid any accidents. For this, they took a step back and made a promise: if Shi Hao could survive and recover his vitality, the Supreme Bone would be returned.
Although they knew this was likely a temporary measure and not genuine, Shi Ziling and his wife could only accept it.
“Your hands are stained with the blood of many clansmen, and Yi’er’s birth mother also died by your hand. She was a Yu Clan member, and her father’s status is extraordinary. Her death like this will not be taken lightly by the Yu Clan.
How about this: you two, husband and wife, temporarily go to the Western Frontier, to the second ancestral land, the place of resurgence in my Stone Country, to reside and let Hao’er recover from his injuries.” An Old Ancestor sighed and spoke.
Shi Ziling said nothing, only nodding silently. He believed that with the Old Ancestors’ promise of returning the bone, Shi Yi’s lineage and the Yu Clan would surely try every means to put Shi Hao to death, rendering this promise of returning the bone null and void.
For them, the Wu King Manor was no longer suitable to stay in; going to the Western Frontier was also good.
“Let’s depart now; the commotion here has already spread.” Another Old Ancestor said.
Shi Ziling and his wife had nothing worth lingering over. Without another word, they immediately carried the weak and unconscious Shi Hao and left.
Before leaving, Shi Ziling glanced at Shi Yi. The latter, with the help of numerous Zong Lao, had already stabilized the Supreme Bone in his chest. His entire being was enveloped in divine light, like an ancient Divine Being who had undergone Reincarnation and Rebirth.
One after another, the elderly members of the Shi Clan looked worried, surrounding Shi Yi like stars embracing the moon. In comparison, Shi Hao’s situation seemed somewhat desolate, completely ignored.
Seeing this, hatred flashed in Shi Ziling’s eyes. His own son was a born Supreme, and should have been treated this way, but now, everything was ruined.
Shi Yi sensed this man-eating gaze. His eyes flickered, meeting Shi Ziling’s gaze.
Shi Hao’s birth father was indeed a prodigy of the Imperial Capital; even a single glance from him was so oppressive that Shi Yi could barely breathe.
However, he was not afraid, because his own talent far surpassed the other’s. It would not take many years to surpass him, so what was there to fear?
In a silent staredown, Shi Ziling and his wife took Shi Hao away, leaving the Wu King Manor.
The disturbance thus subsided, and the people gathered outside the Wu King Manor also dispersed. Although they were very curious about the fluctuations of the recent battle at the Wu King Manor, facing the impenetrable Wu King Manor, they could do nothing but give up.
In the Yu Clan, the matter of Shi Hao’s bone being dug out was not a secret; more than one person knew about it, though only the high-ranking members.
All information was visible at a glance!
And in this battle, information such as Shi Yi’s birth mother being nailed to death, Shi Yi being injured, and the Wu King Manor’s Old Ancestor and Shi Ziling and his wife making a pact to return the bone, also reached the ears of the Yu Clan’s high-ranking members.
Soon, a series of plans targeting Shi Ziling and his wife emerged. Several powerful figures set out to strike while the iron was hot, intercepting them halfway while their injuries had not yet healed, to prevent their family of three from ever reaching the Western Frontier.
Although Shi Yi did not personally witness what happened in the Yu Clan, he had long anticipated it.
He remained calm about this, as he was merely a child under four years old, and many things were not within his control.
Becoming stronger was Shi Yi’s sole goal. In this world of gods and demons, only by possessing Supreme martial power could one control one’s own destiny.
The battle at the Wu King Manor concluded. The clansmen dispersed, and many Shi Clan craftsmen swarmed in to repair the damage within the Manor. Regarding the details of this battle, an Old Ancestor personally issued a command, ordering the clansmen to keep silent, not to reveal anything, and furthermore, not to mention the matter of Shi Hao’s bone being dug out.
A born Supreme was a thing of the past; now, Shi Yi, with his double-pupils and Supreme Bone, was the future of the Wu King Manor. Everything unfavorable to him had to be eradicated.
Shi Yi was also surrounded by a group of Old Ancestors and Zong Lao, each of them concerned about his injuries, offering help in their own ways. From a distance, it looked like he was surrounded by stars.
For Shi Yi, who had always received special treatment in his previous life, this was an unprecedented experience.
However, he was extremely calm and was not carried away by the feeling of having a halo over his head.
He clearly knew that all the glory he possessed at this moment was built upon the foundation of his double-pupils and Supreme Bone. If he were to lose these two supports at this moment, the people surrounding him would instantly scatter like birds and beasts, abandoning him like dirt.
