Chapter 4: Karma
Under the blessing of various halos, Shi Yi’s injuries healed very quickly. Apart from the Wu King, who had been in seclusion for many years, and the Zong Lao who favored Shi Hao’s lineage, everyone else in the Wu King Manor was busy for Shi Yi.
Healing elixirs, blood-replenishing ancient pills, bone-setting Divine Plants… were all sent to Shi Yi for his recovery. This kind of treatment was unprecedented in the history of the Wu King Manor.
However, Shi Yi didn’t need so many resources. The injury to his chest could basically heal itself with the Genesis Life ability of his Dual-Pupil’s left eye.
The so-called injury was just a disturbance of the Supreme Bone caused by fully activating it before it had fully grown. It was nothing serious; the people of the Wu King Manor were simply overly nervous.
Seeing Shi Yi’s pale complexion gradually turn rosy and his Aura slowly stabilize, the Old Ancestors and Zong Lao finally breathed a sigh of relief.
After the incident where Shi Ziling wreaked havoc in the Wu King Manor, their nerves had been taut, fearing any unforeseen circumstances for the future of the Wu King Manor.
Once Shi Yi’s injuries were completely healed and there were no hidden dangers, people stopped coming and going from his courtyard. An Old Ancestor had given instructions to provide him with a quiet environment, asking not to disturb him unless there was a major issue.
This made Shi Yi let out a long sigh of relief. With so many halos above his head, there were countless people who wanted to approach and curry favor with him, enough to form a long queue. If he let them do as they pleased, there would be no peace.
Now, this rare period of tranquility allowed him time to ponder his current situation.
The current situation was that he had transmigrated as Shi Yi, and the time point was after the bone extraction, which meant that the Karma between him and Shi Hao had already been forged.
This Karma was definitely not friendly, because according to the official history, “Shi Yi” would sacrifice himself when Shi Hao fought against the three fallen Quasi-Immortal Emperors. The line, “Past Karma, present fruit, I return it to you!”, still echoed in Shi Yi’s mind.
He did not want to repeat “Shi Yi’s” mistake and sacrifice his life to repay Karma.
Shi Yi pondered.
In his previous life, he was born at the wrong time, encountering setbacks everywhere due to his Dual-Pupil, falling to the lowest point of his life. In this life, Heaven gave him an Opportunity for Rebirth, transmigrating into a world of gods and demons where his Dual-Pupil could shine. Naturally, he wanted to use these eyes to ascend to the peak of the mountains and experience all the splendor of the world.
The path to the peak of the Dao is often long and arduous. Time will take away everything around him, and one day, even this heaven and earth will cease to exist.
During this process, if there could be a formidable opponent looking from afar, competing with each other and constantly clashing, this journey would surely be much more interesting.
Shi Yi was born a lone wolf; he could not and did not like to reconcile with Shi Hao, becoming a respectful elder brother and humble younger brother.
Putting aside those grudges, being Shi Hao’s opponent was the best choice. Chaos was approaching, and it was a battle for Luck. Traveling with Shi Hao would be a disadvantage; competition could push Shi Yi further.
One must know that, for now, Shi Yi had no Golden Finger; what he possessed was the same as the original Shi Yi.
Therefore, he rejected the path of returning the Supreme Bone and instead looked forward to the impending confrontation.
However, not returning the Supreme Bone did not mean he would try his best to nourish it and integrate it completely with himself, like “Shi Yi” did.
This was impossible; something that wasn't his could never truly become a part of him.
Even if “Shi Yi” obtained a great Opportunity in the Ancient Sacred Institute and eliminated the barrier between himself and the Supreme Bone, he ultimately fell because of this bone.
Most importantly, doing so would allow Shi Hao’s Supreme blood to flow within his body. Karma and Reincarnation dictate that this blood would eventually return to Shi Hao’s body in some form, which is why “Shi Yi” sacrificed himself.
In this life, Shi Yi would not take this path. The Supreme Bone was always an external object.
Just as the saying goes: “The Dual-Pupil is already the path to invincibility, why borrow another’s bone?”
He thought a lot about how to deal with this bone. Directly digging it out and throwing it away was impossible; it would be too wasteful. However, it could be used for other purposes.
Besides contemplating the Karma between himself and Shi Hao, Shi Yi was also familiarizing himself with the various abilities of these eyes.
Before his arrival, “Shi Yi” had already developed many Dual-Pupil abilities, such as directly perceiving Origin, interfering with the formation of precious techniques, and Elementary Genesis Life and destruction.
Any one of these abilities would have been an unsolvable existence in his previous life. Unfortunately, the Dual-Pupil in that world had no supernatural abilities; it was merely an eye condition.
The vast courtyard was filled with flowers, plants, and trees, each one extraordinary. Spiritual Qi permeated between the branches and leaves, so dense that it condensed into clouds and mist, looking like a fairyland from afar.
Under the creation of the high-ranking members of the Wu King Manor, the courtyard where Shi Yi resided had an excellent cultivation environment. Of course, for now, he was still in the Foundation Establishment stage and had not truly stepped onto the Dao of cultivation.
After a period of quiet recuperation in the manor, Shi Yi was already able to skillfully master the various abilities of the Dual-Pupil, controlling them as easily as his own limbs. He was also about to restart the process of Dual-Pupil development.
The development of such a talent was very resource-intensive, but with the Wu King Manor supporting him, everything was not a problem.
In addition to the development of his Dual-Pupil, his cultivation foundation, which was the Foundation Establishment before entering the Dao of cultivation, should also be put on the agenda. Once completed, he could begin cultivation and realize the powerful talent of an Ancient Saint.
Every word and every sentence is worth reading!
Suddenly, the tranquility here was broken as an old man pushed open the courtyard gate and walked in.
He was very tall, with surging red radiance all over his body, like a Nirvana blood phoenix. His eyes were golden, like two golden lamps, very dazzling.
It was Shi Yuan, the Zong Lao of Shi Yi’s lineage, and also Shi Yi’s great-grandfather.
When Shi Ziling caused a ruckus in the Wu King Manor, in order to protect Shi Yi, Shi Yuan and Shi Ziling fought fiercely. During that time, “Shi Yi” even used his Dual-Pupil ability to assist Shi Yuan.
The outcome was self-evident: Shi Yuan was no match for Shi Ziling and was defeated. One of his arms almost shattered but was forcibly stabilized by his precious technique.
More than ten days had passed, and Shi Yuan’s arm still felt somewhat unnatural, wrapped in his wide sleeve.
He walked in and saw Shi Yi sitting cross-legged on a futon, diligently cultivating. A smile involuntarily appeared at the corner of his mouth.
Ever since this great-grandson obtained the Supreme Bone, his temperament had become increasingly extraordinary. Not only did divine light flow in his eyes, but every movement he made carried a terrifying majesty.
At such a young age, to possess such an Aura, he was destined to stand above all living beings in the future, looking down upon all creatures, truly like a Divine Being descended upon the world.
Having such a great-grandson, he was naturally filled with joy and contentment.
