"Understood!" Lu Mingyu replied seriously.
"I’ve already told them; the comprehensive testing will begin tomorrow."
The Commander hummed in acknowledgment and leaned back in his chair.
"Alright, you personally oversee this matter. I trust you."
He changed the subject, bringing up another matter.
"Oh, there's one more thing I need to tell you."
"Tomorrow, the female guests from the reality show 'if i were a female special forces soldier' are coming to Haining."
When Lu Mingyu heard the name of the program, his brows imperceptibly furrowed.
In his opinion, such entertainment programs and their kind of real-life special forces were simply two different worlds.
But there was nothing he could do.
He decided to participate not only because of orders from above but also so his team members could receive high compensation.
"Is filming starting now?" he asked.
"Not yet."
"They said that before formal filming begins, there needs to be two days of basic military quality training to help them adapt in advance."
The Commander explained.
"The higher-ups specifically requested our Cheetah Special Forces Brigade to cooperate."
"The training location will be at your Macrophages training camp."
Lu Mingyu's expression didn't change, but he felt some impatience in his heart.
This meant they would have to allocate manpower and energy to deal with a group of delicate female celebrities.
This was simply a waste of time.
The Commander looked at his perpetually unchanging poker face and knew exactly what he was thinking.
"Don't give me that expression. This is an order from a superior."
"It's also an important mission to promote military support, and it must be completed well."
"Yes." Lu Mingyu could only agree.
The Commander picked up the enamel mug on the table and took a sip of strong tea.
"Do you know the specific information about the female guests coming this time?"
Lu Mingyu shook his head.
"The production team hasn't given me any information."
The Commander snorted at that.
"These artistic types, their procedures are just not standardized."
"I'll call their person in charge later."
"Tell them they must send all the detailed information of the female guests to your email by tomorrow morning."
"You prepare in advance, so you won't be flustered then."
"Yes, Commander." Lu Mingyu replied, his tone still flat.
It was as if this matter was no different to him than testing a landmine.
The Commander took another document from the drawer and placed it on the table.
"Finally, there's one more thing."
"This is the approval for the reward of the 'Ground Bomb' landmine research and development project."
"Your Macrophages have made immense and indispensable contributions to this research."
"This is the R&D reward fund specially approved by the Military Region; just sign here."
Lu Mingyu stepped forward and picked up the pen.
His gaze swept over the amount on the document, his eyes showing no fluctuation.
What he thought of was the bank card he had sent to Gu Lina Zha a few days ago.
The money in that card was all of his past savings.
Now, this reward fund would also eventually become part of the guarantee for her future life.
He quickly signed his name at the bottom of the document.
After signing, Lu Mingyu put down the pen and stood at attention.
"Commander, if there's nothing else, I'll head back first."
"Go ahead." The Commander waved his hand.
Lu Mingyu gave the Commander a standard military salute.
Then he turned and left the office with steady steps.
The scorching sun hung high, baking the training ground of the Cheetah Special Forces Brigade.
The ground temperature was frighteningly high, as if it could melt the soles of one's shoes.
Seven beautiful figures in camouflage training uniforms stood in a straight line in the center of the parade ground.
Sweat had long soaked their clothes, clinging tightly to their bodies, outlining their slender figures.
But at this moment, no one had the mind to care about such things.
Fatigue was the only feeling everyone had.
Muscles ached, legs felt as heavy as if filled with lead, and every breath brought hot air.
Even though the instructor had left more than ten minutes ago.
But the command to "stand by" was like an invisible 鎖, preventing them from relaxing in the slightest.
Gu Lina Zha stood at the front of the team, her posture being the most standard among everyone.
Her back was ramrod straight, chin slightly tucked, and eyes looking straight ahead.
Like a small white poplar that would never bend under the scorching sun.
Sweat trickled down her smooth forehead, flowing past her long eyelashes, yet she didn't even blink.
"Naza-jie, I can't take it anymore."
Zhang Zifeng, standing behind her, lowered her voice, on the verge of tears.
"What do you think we're even doing here? Instead of being good actresses, we've come here to suffer."
"Just hold on a little longer, the instructor should be back soon."
Gu Lina Zha didn't turn around, comforting her in a calm voice.
"We came here to challenge ourselves."
She answered Zhang Zifeng's first question.
This answer sounded a bit official, but for her, half of it was genuine.
The other half was to step into that person's world, to personally experience the life he spoke of as commonplace.
Only then could she understand him better.
"Challenge ourselves?"
Zhang Zifeng mumbled softly.
"This is too much of a challenge. I feel like my legs aren't even my own anymore."
She slightly shifted her toes, trying to alleviate the tingling sensation.
"But Naza-jie, you're really amazing."
Zhang Zifeng's tone was full of admiration.
"Look at your posture, it's exactly like the instructor's demonstration, you're practically a model soldier."
"The rest of us can't help but sway after standing for a while, but you're like you're nailed to the ground."
"Did you secretly practice before coming?"
Hearing this question, Gu Lina Zha's lips unconsciously curved into a smile, and her eyes softened.
"Mm, a friend in the military taught me some basics."
The friend she spoke of was naturally Lu Mingyu.
"A friend in the military?"
Yang Zi, who was nearby, also heard and curiously leaned over.
"Is it a man or a woman?"
"So professional, surely not just an ordinary soldier, right?"
"It's a man."
Gu Lina Zha answered frankly.
"Wow!"
A small commotion arose in the team.
Yu Shuxin made an exaggerated expression of surprise:
"Naza-jie, good for you, is it a boyfriend?"
"Exactly, spill the beans!"
Bai Lu also joined in the teasing.
Female celebrities in the entertainment industry naturally had a keen sense for such gossip.
Gu Lina Zha just smiled, neither admitting nor denying.
This ambiguous attitude only invited more speculation.
Just as they were whispering, a steady, powerful sound of footsteps approached from a distance.
A tall, dark-skinned instructor, holding a clipboard, walked over expressionlessly.
The female guests instantly fell silent, standing even straighter, eyes fixed forward.
The instructor walked in front of the team, his sharp gaze sweeping over each person's face, making them feel an inexplicable pressure.
"Attention!"
A fierce shout made everyone's bodies instinctively tense up.
"Next, I will announce the assessment results for today's four basic training items."
The instructor's voice was loud and cold, devoid of any emotion.
"The four training items are: three-kilometer armed cross-country, Type 95 automatic rifle disassembly and assembly, fixed-target shooting, and indoor obstacle course."
"I will repeat the rules."
"For the four assessments, if even one item is failed, training will continue to be intensified in the afternoon until it's passed."
"Only those who pass all four items will be allowed to rest and have free activity in the afternoon."
