Chapter 98: Departure Port

After organizing his equipment, Feng Jun boarded the White Egret Drone. He planned to first fly to the Yanqing Industrial Park in the south for supplies, and then detour to the Harbor area on the eastern coast.

Because the distance was slightly farther, and considering the recent tense situation in Huaicheng District, Feng Jun only brought a few Imperial Guards with him. Li Lu also came along. Feng Jun originally didn't want her to come out and risk herself with him, but he couldn't resist Li Lu's persistent nagging and eventually agreed.

Three White Egret Drones landed on a helipad in Yanqing Industrial Park. This helipad was clearly a temporary construction. Song Zhan was already there with a group of soldiers to greet them.

The Anti-corpse liquid factory had been fully completed and put into production. Feng Jun could see from the air that the entire industrial park had been enclosed by high walls. The Blood Nest was neatly divided into six areas.

Laser rapid-fire cannons, guard towers, and barbed wire surrounded the area tightly. Zombies produced within the Blood Nest were captured and sent directly to the adjacent factory, where workers and soldiers would cut off the claws and fangs of these zombies. After applying restraint devices, they would implant Anti-corpse liquid spores and then push them into underground greenhouses for cultivating mycelium.

As long as the temperature and humidity were suitable, the Anti-corpse liquid could grow to a harvestable stage in about 20-30 days. An ordinary zombie could be harvested approximately 3-4 times. The first batch of weapons made from Anti-corpse liquid was ready, primarily in the form of smoke grenades and injectors.

The smoke grenades were mixed with a certain degree of aerosol particles, effectively enhancing the spray's time in the air, which could effectively kill ordinary zombies and Mutant zombies. As for Mutants with an evolution level exceeding 200 energy points, injectors launched by rifles were needed for injection.

However, when facing Mutants with hardened skin, such as Scale Armor Corpse or Roadblock, the injectors would not be as effective. Yan Xin had already considered this problem, so Anti-corpse liquid weapons with armor-piercing effects were currently under development.

Feng Jun came to Yanqing Industrial Park specifically for this batch of Anti-corpse liquid weapons. This practical combat trip would be a good test of these weapons' effectiveness against zombies.

"Remember to turn on the camera on your Power Armor. I need the data from actual combat to improve the weapons," Yan Xin instructed.

Feng Jun nodded, indicating he understood, and then the three White Egrets successively took off, flying directly towards the eastern Harbor.

On the plane, Li Lu was toying with a smoke grenade made from Anti-corpse liquid, and Feng Jun was introducing her to the weapon's usage and function.

"Are you serious? This thing can kill most zombies?" Li Lu picked up a few smoke grenades and mounted them on her mechanical exoskeleton.

"It's been tested and proven effective, and this thing is extracted from the mushrooms on the mushroom zombies we saw in the subway that time. Surprised?" Feng Jun said.

"Alright, I hope these things are as effective as you say," Li Lu shrugged and said.

Flying in the air was indeed much faster. Feng Jun reached the coastline after only half an hour of flying from Yanqing Industrial Park. The Harbor's location was obvious. After flying north along the coastline for a while, Feng Jun saw the ruins of the Harbor and the huge ships suspended at the dock. Along the way, Feng Jun also encountered an attack from a group of mutated seagulls, but fortunately, these birds only grew in size after mutation.

The extent of war damage here was only slightly less than inland. Abandoned warships and ships rested haphazardly at the docks, and some had even partially sunk and run aground in the shallow sea. The density of zombies here was not small at all, and there were quite a few Mutants among them. Feng Jun also saw a gigantic Interceptor, a Mutant evolved from a zombie, with only its head retaining a trace of human appearance. Its arms were like cast iron, with bulging, well-defined muscles. It moved on all fours, with huge claws growing on its hands and feet. Its skin was grayish-green, and when it was lie on the ground, its height was about five meters. It was hard to imagine how tall it would be when it stood up.

Feng Jun used an energy detector to scan it from a distance and was immediately startled. The energy value detected at a distance of eight hundred meters was as high as five hundred points, and this was without even getting close.

The noise from the White Egret Drone attracted its attention, but fortunately, this Interceptor did not show much interest in the three White Egret Drones. It had clearly just been in a fight, with several large wounds on its back and shoulders. Lying at its feet was a huge eel, and from the dragging marks, this eel was killed by the Interceptor.

The dragging marks extended from the seaside of the Harbor all the way to this spot, clearly indicating that this Interceptor had hunted another huge eel in the sea and, after successfully killing it, dragged the eel from the sea all the way to land.

After a glance, Feng Jun ignored it and lowered its head to begin feasting on the eel's corpse at its feet. Its sharp fangs and claws easily tore open the eel's belly. Black entrails immediately spilled onto the ground, and the Interceptor plunged its head into the eel's belly, beginning to gorge itself.

"Detected a creature containing a gene seed and a creature corpse containing a gene seed," the Storage Space prompted Feng Jun at this moment.

"gene seed." A strong sensation emanated from the Storage Space; both the Interceptor and the eel's corpse contained a gene seed. The Storage Space would prompt Feng Jun whenever it detected a gene seed. Although he didn't know what collecting these things was for, completing tasks would further expand the Storage Space, while the consequence of failing a task was Feng Jun's death.

"Let's go, it's still a bit of a distance to the Museum Manufacturing warehouse," Li Lu reminded.

Looking at the feeding Interceptor, Feng Jun firmly noted down this location. Although he really wanted to get these two gene seeds, Feng Jun knew very well that he didn't have the ability to do so now. That guy's energy value was definitely above five hundred points, looking at its huge size and muscular limbs. Moreover, the dead eel also had a mouth full of sharp teeth, and the Interceptor was even able to dive into the sea and kill an eel larger than itself, indicating it was definitely a top-tier existence in this area.

Feng Jun remembered the first time he faced Sawtooth, the Storage Space also prompted him about the existence of a gene seed and then urged Feng Jun to kill Sawtooth as soon as possible, or he would be obliterated. Fortunately, this time the Storage Space did not issue a mandatory combat mission, otherwise his few Imperial Guards and Li Lu would have been in danger.

"Was there something you needed just now?" After the White Egret flew far away, Li Lu leaned over and asked Feng Jun.

Feng Jun naturally knew she was referring to the gene seed, so he nodded; "Yes, the space prompted me. But the strength difference is too great. I'll come back next time with the Titan Power Armor."
