Chapter 6: Huang Tie Kou's Accurate Readings, Free Fortune-Telling
The capital city was bustling in the morning, with crowds of people filling the streets and alleys.
Next to the breakfast stalls, full of the aroma of human life, workers ate on the go, not caring about burning their mouths, while leisurely elderly people sat with their grandchildren, chewing slowly.
At the alley entrance, however, a new stall had appeared. A fierce-looking middle-aged man, wearing sunglasses, a simple T-shirt, and shorts, had set up a small table with a sign that read: 'Huang Tie Kou's Accurate Readings, Free Fortune-Telling.'
It attracted a lot of attention.
“Tsk, these young people nowadays, always up to something strange. Back in our glorious era…”
“Wait, free fortune-telling? Is this uncle living a carefree life and doing charity? Or is he searching for the meaning of life?”
“Should we go try it? It’s free anyway.”
“You say you’re naive and you don’t believe it? It’s all a trick! Fortune-telling is free, but if he tells you you’re about to suffer a bloody calamity, won’t you have to pay for peace?”
Huang Tie Kou, whose fierce appearance was somewhat hidden by his sunglasses, was very cheerful and wasn't angered by the discussions of the surrounding residents: “I am Huang Tie Kou. Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to receive divine guidance!”
“I've come out to tell fortunes only to verify the divine methods. If you don't believe me, feel free to come up and get a reading. Absolutely no charge!”
“If I try to sell you a peace charm or charge you money, you can smash my stall! I mean what I say, you can record and video me!”
The onlookers sitting down for breakfast immediately became interested.
Wow, so arrogant?
Divine guidance, smashing the stall, and allowing people to record and video him freely?
Is he that confident in himself?
A middle school student jumped out: “Then, Uncle, tell me, do I have money in my left pocket or my right pocket!”
This was only possible in this era. A few years later, with the prevalence of electronic payments, almost no one would carry cash anymore.
The surrounding crowd enjoyed the spectacle, looking at Huang Tie Kou with playful amusement.
You wanted to show off and act cool, now you’re going to be embarrassed, aren't you?
No one believed that a fortune-teller could tell which pocket held the money.
Huang Tie Kou was very happy. He took out a white crystal pendulum with his left hand, his arm held straight, and muttered to himself: “Money in the left pocket…”
As he chanted, the pendulum began to swing slightly counter-clockwise without any wind, looking extremely mystical. Huang Tie Kou was greatly invigorated: “Your money is in your right pocket!”
The middle school student was a little incredulous. After muttering for a while, he nodded in admission and pulled out a ten-yuan bill from his right pocket.
He walked back to his original seat in a daze, no longer in the mood to eat breakfast, already thinking about whether he should skip school and apprentice himself to Huang Tie Kou.
The onlookers were like oil poured on a fire, their discussions exploding: “He, he could even figure that out? X-ray vision?”
“Is this kid a shill?”
“Impossible, this kid is from our alley. I watched him grow up; there’s no way he’d be a shill for this guy.”
“Then… did he meet a true immortal? The Master is truly capable, help me calculate my fortune!”
Someone else, not believing in evil, slapped the table and called out: “Master, why don’t you come over and tell us, among the three of us, whose soy milk has no sugar?”
Huang Tie Kou was overjoyed. He hadn't expected to truly meet an expert yesterday and learn something real!
He didn't even think of refusing, happily accepting and repeating his trick. In minutes, he used the pendulum to divine which bowl of soy milk had no sugar, convincing everyone.
The customers at that table even actively stood up to shake hands with Huang Tie Kou, inviting him to sit and eat with them, actively inquiring about the source of Huang Tie Kou's abilities.
People often show great respect to Masters who truly possess abilities. Now, no one dared to underestimate Huang Tie Kou.
Many people were even moved to come forward to ask for a divination, hoping that Master Huang Tie Kou could guide them on how to get rich, or inquire about their marriage.
Huang Tie Kou was all smiles, accepting everyone. Anyone could come for a divination; he wouldn't charge a single cent, only serving everyone.
For some reason, Huang Tie Kou, possessing this ability, never thought of seeking personal gain for himself, only wanting to provide free divinations for everyone.
Xu Lie's clone, hidden in the furthest corner of the crowd, pulled out his phone and sent a text message to his main body: 'The divination was very successful. No side effects have been found yet. Continued observation is needed.'
Because the Sequence is still relatively low, if the clone and the main body are too far apart, information cannot be transmitted directly.
They need to use a mobile phone to communicate. As a Marauder, he wouldn't lack a phone.
And the highly respected divination Master Huang Tie Kou was merely an experimental subject and a prospective Parasite target launched by Xu Lie's clones.
Xu Lie wasn't interested in remembering Huang Tie Kou's real name; he only knew he was a scam artist running a pyramid scheme, and this name was made up casually.
He had swindled and harmed several families. While Xu Lie was holed up in a street-side hotel, making clones, Huang Tie Kou was knocking on the door outside, attempting to lure hotel guests into his scheme.
As a result, Xu Lie, using the Swindler's eloquence, easily tricked him, and he honestly confessed everything.
The Marauder Pathway's Sequence 8, Swindler, in addition to improvements in agility and speed, primarily gained increased charm and skilled rhetoric, making every word more convincing.
After advancing to Sequence 7, the deception ability, although not enhanced, also didn't disappear, and a bit of trickery was enough to take down Huang Tie Kou.
Huang Tie Kou completely believed that Xu Lie was a god from myths and legends, and voluntarily took the Sequence 9 Seer potion concocted by Xu Lie on the spot.
And Huang Tie Kou also firmly remembered the 'tests' Xu Lie gave him.
The first, of course, was not to reveal any information about Xu Lie; the second was not to use divination for personal gain.
The third was what Huang Tie Kou was doing now: providing free divinations for more people, without participating, only offering advice, respecting fate, and if he persisted for a period, he would pass the test.
Huang Tie Kou, who deeply believed in these, left early this morning to provide free fortune-telling everywhere.
Xu Lie gave this gift for two reasons: first, he wanted to see why divination could succeed without the Spirit World. Did frequent divination require paying certain costs?
Second, Xu Lie planned to pray to create a Sequence 4 Parasite charm. When Huang Tie Kou digested the Seer potion and advanced to Sequence 8 Clown, he would directly Parasite and control Huang Tie Kou.
This would allow the Parasite Huang Tie Kou to chant the honorific name and pray to Sefirah Castle, overcoming the restrictions of three Sequence levels, to request the creation of a Seer Pathway Sequence 6 Faceless charm.
This was also for the benefit of the many clones. Currently, Xu Lie cannot arbitrarily Parasite others and change his appearance at will.
He can only rely on the Faceless's extraordinary ability to change the faces of his clones.
Otherwise, if more than ten clones with Xu Lie's face poured out of the hotel, the relevant departments would probably come to inspect human cloning devices the next day.
Of course, currently, Xu Lie has only made eleven clones, not that many, but there will certainly be more clones in the future.
The Faceless ability charm is definitely needed.
Nine clones settled in the nine great primordial substances, bringing peace to the Sefirah and freeing them from the torment of frequent headaches and agitation.
The other two clones: one is currently monitoring Huang Tie Kou, and the other has returned to the Preparatory Class to continue schooling, and also to find opportunities to steal some dragon blood materials.
After concocting the Seer potion for Huang Tie Kou, Xu Lie had little dragon blood material left and urgently needed to replenish it.
The Cassell family is a large enterprise; just taking a little from them shouldn't be a problem.
