“Let me see?”
Luo Mu leaned over, looking at the small pit Pai Pa had dug with a hoe.
But with just a glance, Luo Mu’s brows furrowed deeply. For some reason, the potato seeds that were originally evenly distributed in the soil had shattered into fine powder.
Pai Pa clapped the dust off his hands, naturally accepting the Water Gun sprayed by Swampert. While washing his hands, he said, “I really didn’t expect, Brother Luo Mu, that you wouldn’t even know such basic common sense.”
“Grass-type Pokemon can accelerate the Growth of crops or plants, but the premise is that the crops must have the ability to absorb energy and nutrients.”
“Serperior is too strong. It’s so strong that even the small amount of nutrients and energy it allocates is enough to cause indigestion for crops still in seed form.” Pai Pa spoke with precision, making Luo Mu and Serperior blush. Before Swampert could celebrate its escape, Pai Pa’s spearhead pointed at Swampert again.
“The same goes for the Water Gun Swampert uses for watering. Just by washing my hands, I can tell this water is converted from pure Water-type energy.”
“Things that ordinary low-level Pokemon can do very well will instead cause problems because of your excessive strength.”
Luo Mu fell silent. He felt like he was about to lose it, frantically poking the hint system in his mind.
“Is that how it is?”
“Yes, my illiterate host, because Serperior and Swampert’s energy levels are too high, the crops suffered indigestion and burst open.”
“.Why didn’t you give me a hint? Aren’t you a hint system?”
“You didn’t ask me. You told me to answer all questions but not to actively pop out. If I actively pop out, you’ll find me annoying.”
The text twisted haphazardly, subtly conveying a hint of grievance.
“My mistake. I’ll actively seek you out next time.”
“Hmph.”
Ending the brief conversation with the hint system, Luo Mu chuckled awkwardly at Pai Pa, rubbing his hands like a fly before shamelessly asking, “So that means, besides watering and fertilizing step by step, it’s best to find some ordinary Grass-type Pokemon to cultivate the crops?”
Pai Pa nodded slightly, acknowledging Luo Mu’s statement, then added, “There’s also a way for Serperior to do this, and it can be even more efficient.”
Luo Mu perked up his ears, his expression curious.
Pai Pa didn't keep him in suspense. At ten years old, he now seemed more like a teacher, directly saying, “I’ve read in books that many farms will have Pokemon with the Grassy Terrain move to promote the Growth of crops and plants. Brother Luo Mu, your Serperior is so strong, it must know Grassy Terrain, right?”
Luo Mu and Serperior exchanged glances. Seeing Serperior’s innocent expression, Luo Mu could only helplessly say, “My Serperior actually hasn’t mastered the Grassy Terrain move.”
To be precise, it had tried to learn it but couldn’t, no matter what. If he told the truth, he would definitely be whipped by Serperior in a fit of rage, so a little lie was better.
Serperior was very satisfied with Luo Mu’s tact, softly letting out a sound: “Galo~”
All in all, it meant finding other Grass-type Pokemon to bring to the farm, right? This way, they wouldn’t be captured by Luo Mu, and they certainly wouldn’t steal Luo Mu’s attention like a Pokemon Egg.
It had no objections.
Luo Mu could roughly tell what Serperior meant. It probably meant it wouldn’t feel that ordinary Pokemon could threaten its status. That’s all an arrogant mind would think, and Luo Mu saw through it at a glance.
Luo Mu took the incubator from Swampert’s hand and, as usual, glanced at the Pokemon Egg inside.
There was almost no change. Although some Fletchling were active in the nearby wilderness, Fletchling’s ability hadn’t developed to the point where it could hatch Pokemon Eggs. He still had to wait for Dragonite to bring back nutrient solution and for Luxray and the others to find a Pokemon with the Flame Body ability.
Pai Pa also leaned over, curiously asking, “Brother Luo Mu, did you buy another Pokemon Egg?”
“It’s more like someone entrusted it to me to take care of.” Luo Mu nodded, briefly introducing the story of this Pokemon Egg to Pai Pa, and incidentally asked him to inquire with Ao Lin and Fu Tu if they had a solution when he had time.
After listening, compassion for the Pokemon Egg quickly welled up in Pai Pa’s heart. He gently stroked the incubator’s outer casing and softly said, “It’s been hard on you to hold on for so long. You must keep going. With Brother Luo Mu here, the time until you hatch must not be far.”
“As for my parents, I’ll bring it up to them when I go back today.”
Although Pai Pa still felt some resentment towards Ao Lin and Fu Tu, he could distinguish between important and urgent matters. This concerned a life, and now was not the time for him to throw a tantrum.
Seeing Pai Pa agree to his suggestion, Luo Mu breathed a sigh of relief. He looked at Pai Pa and proposed, “I plan to try my luck in the nearby wilderness to see if there are any suitable Grass-type Pokemon that can be recruited into the farm. Do you want to come?”
Pai Pa was startled, then quickly reacted, nodding heavily.
Because the field where that bag of potato seeds was planted had been watered by Swampert, the seeds inside were probably in dire straits. Since they were going out anyway, Luo Mu had Swampert stay behind to guard the house while also using its moves to re-cultivate that experimental field.
As for him.
He went home, picked up a canvas bag he had conveniently bought, mysteriously put some things inside, and then left with Serperior, Pai Pa, and Mabosstiff.
The goal of this trip was to find suitable Grass-type Pokemon and bring them to work on the farm after capturing them.
Although it would take some time for the farm to officially operate, recruiting a few employees during this opportunity was not bad.
Unexpected dangers could appear at any time in the wilderness, which was probably why Grandma Juzi’s explorer son gave up on that Pokemon Egg.
Therefore, Luo Mu left the incubator beside Swampert. Although Swampert looked very violent, it actually knew how to exercise restraint, and Luo Mu was very relieved with it protecting the incubator.
In the wilderness.
In mid-air, a streak of fire darted around like a meteor, leaving many scorched marks on the surrounding grass. The perpetrator was probably the being within that fiery meteor.
Luo Mu shielded Pai Pa behind him and said, “Gently, Vine Whip, grab it.”
Serperior nodded slightly. Two emerald green vines shot out like lightning from its front, and a crackling sound, as if of an explosion, echoed in the air.
The most basic Vine Whip was used by Serperior with the momentum of Crazy Plant. The emerald green vines showed no fear of the flames, quickly catching up to the high-speed flying target and wrapping it up tightly.
Fletchinder let out a mournful cry, dragged down from the sky to the ground by Serperior’s Vine Whip. Serperior then skillfully tied a knot to bind Fletchinder before breaking off the Vine Whip.
Pai Pa, hiding behind Luo Mu, was filled with admiration. At least a dozen Fletchinder and Fletchling lay scattered on the ground, yet Luo Mu and Serperior had dealt with them so easily.
Luo Mu looked up at the sky, finding that no more Fletchinder of the same species flew to attack them. He couldn’t help but sigh.
It seemed that Talonflame with the Flame Body ability was not so easy to encounter. This attacking Fletchinder group didn’t have a single Talonflame appear.
Let’s continue searching for suitable Grass-type Pokemon.
Luo Mu led Pai Pa, Serperior, and Mabosstiff further west. Suddenly, Pai Pa sneezed and, with a bewildered expression, pulled out a small piece of white cotton from his mouth.
Noticing all of this, Luo Mu’s eyes lit up slightly the moment he saw the cotton.
Speak of the devil, and he shall appear!
