Chapter 4: Licker

Li Su suddenly sat up from the bed, only to find darkness all around.

He released his Perception Domain, confirmed that the doors and windows were still intact, and then breathed a sigh of relief.

This place was not a peaceful world; not only could he be torn apart by zombies at any moment, but he could also be captured by Umbrella Corporation personnel.

Ever since entering this world, Li Su had been adjusting his state, keeping himself constantly vigilant.

After confirming temporary safety, he began preparations for going out.

A crawling monster, 6 meters long, with muscular limbs, sharp claws, teeth like a chainsaw, and an ugly appearance, was climbing upwards, sniffing the air.

His Perception Domain had been active, and he just happened to see this monster climbing up.

“Monster,” Li Su exclaimed, and quickly moved the boulders blocking the doors and windows.

Boom, boom…

The main door was forcibly shattered by Mind Power, and the opposite door and windows also exploded in succession.

His hairs stood on end; the moment he saw the monster, Li Su’s heart felt as if it had been clenched, and his survival instinct desperately urged him to leave.

Li Su quickly retreated along the path he had blasted open; in his haste, his clothes caught on a wooden splinter, causing him to pause.

With a loud crack.

The drooling Lickers accelerated, charging directly into the room; it smelled the scent of fresh blood.

However, the entire room was empty, with only a blood-stained sleeve hanging on the broken door frame.

“Roar, roar, roar,” the Lickers immediately went into a berserk state, forcing its way in the direction Li Su had retreated.

It saw that delicious food had run that way.

In its berserk state, the Lickers only saw a room full of sundries.

It swung its sharp claws, frantically destroying various cabinets, trying to find fresh food.

Li Su, floating in the air, wiped away the cold sweat from his forehead, glanced at the scratched area, and wondered if he would get infected with the zombie virus and turn into a zombie!

“I’m still too nervous; I shouldn’t have taken all the stones just now; that way, I wouldn’t have had to flee so embarrassingly,” Li Su reflected on his actions.

Exhaling, Li Su slipped into the small fortress he had constructed from steel plates.

He used his Perception Domain to observe the monster in the room that wanted his Life.

His Mind Power erupted, forming a large hand that gripped the Lickers, slowly increasing pressure.

Snap!! Snap…

The Lickers’ bones were crushed, and one still-moving claw thrashed wildly, leaving large scratches on the hard walls.

Through his Mind Power, Li Su felt as if he were squeezing a soft-boiled egg with his hand; he just needed to squeeze hard.

The slightly runny yolk would splatter everywhere.

Li Su did not continue to apply pressure, throwing the somewhat crippled Lickers aside.

He wanted to try the Castrated version of meteorite he had prepared earlier; two huge stones appeared simultaneously on either side of the Lickers.

With a loud bang.

The stones, carrying immense kinetic energy, instantly collided.

The Lickers caught in between exploded into a circular mass of flesh and blood.

The two large stones collided and immediately exploded, destroying everything in the room, and the surrounding walls were also pierced by debris.

The shockwave generated by the collision of the two stones destroyed three floors of the building in an instant.

Li Su, in the air, quickly retreated upwards as the explosion occurred.

Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!

Several pieces of debris struck the steel plate, emitting a crisp metallic sound.

“This power should be comparable to an artillery shell,” Li Su said uncertainly; he had never seen one in reality, so he could only speculate.

The original weight of the huge stones, the impact of their fall from the sky, and the acceleration from Mind Power—this was his strongest attack method so far.

Such power was barely sufficient in this world; it was just that his mindset was still not stable enough.

The moment he saw this monster, his instinctive reaction was to flee, which was completely unacceptable.

He decided to hunt these zombies and monsters until he could remain calm, no matter how brutal the scene, only then would he be qualified.

The still-bleeding wound was a lesson in his unstable mindset.

He still wanted to develop into a swordsman; if he panicked in close combat, he could lose his Life instantly.

Li Su made up his mind and descended, flying out of the steel plate fortress about 5 meters above the ground.

After thinking about it, he went back inside; zombie blood was infectious, and if it splattered on him, it would be dangerous.

There was also the Umbrella Corporation, a powerful force; if they discovered him, they would surely be very interested in his body.

He wasn't afraid of a direct confrontation, but he was afraid of them ambushing him with sniper rifles.

With his current neural reaction speed, he simply couldn't react to a sudden bullet; staying in the fortress was safer.

He was not afraid of the Umbrella Corporation; at worst, he would fight, and if he couldn't win, he could still run.

He hadn't killed anyone yet and was curious to know the difference between killing people and killing zombies.

The nearby zombies were attracted by the loud noise and gradually gathered beneath him, roaring loudly and constantly reaching upwards.

Li Su moved the bulletproof glass beneath his feet; he needed to adapt to scenes of flying flesh and blood as quickly as possible.

Three short swords flew downwards, instantly piercing the heads of three zombies.

The steel swords entered through the skulls and exited through the chins, bringing out large amounts of black blood and minced meat.

Puff, puff, puff…

The flying swords changed direction in mid-air, slashing at the necks of nearby zombies, and their round heads separated from their bodies.

The next moment, the sword light slashed back, and three more heads were cut off.

The three short swords moved like swimming fish, constantly weaving through the zombie horde, and the zombies were cut down one by one like sugarcane.

The slaughter lasted less than ten minutes, and the zombies were cleared.

The ground was covered with a layer of headless corpses, their mouths still opening and closing, clearly not completely dead yet.

Li Su waited in place for the next wave of zombies to gather; one wave after another, large numbers of zombies appeared continuously.

The continuous slaughter lasted from morning until noon before the zombies began to thin out.

The three short swords were severely deformed, their edges full of nicks; for the last few waves of zombies, he completely used his kitchen knife.

The kitchen knife, used for over ten years, also announced its retirement in this massacre.

His Mind Power was also depleted by nearly half.

Li Su found another 10-story building and rested in a clean room.

Feeling a bit drained mentally, his head felt somewhat heavy, so after blocking the doors and windows, he began his afternoon nap.

When he got up from the bed again, his Mind Power had almost recovered.

Li Su left the room and began searching for useful supplies in the areas where he had cleared zombies.

Most of the buildings contained useless items, and Li Su couldn't possibly move these sundries back to sell as second-hand goods.

Although he could easily do it, he felt it was unnecessary.

A sweep of his Perception Domain, followed by a careful observation, allowed him to find useful items.

He retrieved over a dozen gold items from several safes, handling them but unable to discern their authenticity.

However, if they were kept in a safe, the chances of them being fake were not very high.

He scattered a large amount of paper money from the air; foreign currency would need to be exchanged at a bank for normal use, and if any problems arose that landed him in trouble, that would be laughable.

To his surprise, he also found over a dozen firearms.

He saw many antiques, but he didn't recognize any of them and didn't feel any so-called historical aura from them.

After picking up a crown and playing with it for a moment, he casually tossed it away, hearing a crisp clang.

Rather than collecting these items, which were given meaning by humans, it would be better to seek out some extraordinary items for his collection.

His most satisfying discovery was a wall full of cold weapons; he didn't know whose collection it was, but it came in handy for him.

Slaughter and harvest.

This fulfilling Life continued for three days, and this small City was almost completely plundered by him.

Early on the fourth day, Li Su rode a motorcycle along the main road into the distance.

He had abandoned his old bicycle because riding a motorcycle felt more exhilarating.

Li Su rode the motorcycle at an extremely fast speed, almost reaching over 300 mph.

He tightly gripped the handlebars, accelerating furiously with his Mind Power.

After running over a stone, the motorcycle immediately lost control, throwing Li Su off.

As his face was about to make intimate contact with the ground, Li Su calmly controlled his body to fly upwards.

This was the change that continuous slaughter had brought him, allowing him to remain calm even when facing danger.

That car was already totaled, so Li Su took out another one and hit the road again.

He rode like a maniac all the way, on main roads, small roads, and even where there was no road, he could ride.

Bang.

A gunshot rang out from a distance.

The speeding motorcycle slowly decelerated, and the scene ahead came into his view.
