Chapter 8: Counting and receiving goods

Li Su only felt a momentary daze, and when he opened his eyes again, he saw his familiar small room.

Stepping out of the room, he saw an empty house, with the only furniture, a round table, already covered in dust.

Li Su picked up the only item on the table, a portrait. The photo showed a middle-aged man with a kind face and grey hair, bearing a three-tenths resemblance to Li Su.

Li Su grew up in a single-parent family; in his memory, there was no trace of his mother.

His mother left home when he was only two years old. He had asked his father the reason for the divorce, but his father never told him.

Out of curiosity, he conducted some investigations, and after some simple inquiries, Li Su knew where his mother was now.

But he never thought of going to find his mother, because he didn't want to disturb their lives.

Li Su never hated his mother, because his father gave him all his love. After his father passed away from illness, Li Su was depressed for two whole years.

It wasn't until he encountered the Dreamlike Ark and saw the possibility of realizing his dreams that Li Su truly recovered.

Today, suddenly thinking of his mother, he felt a stirring in his heart. Li Su made up his mind to go see the person he had always wanted to meet.

Then he could wholeheartedly pursue his dreams of power and immortality. Li Su composed himself.

Things must be done one by one. The most important thing now is to leave this home.

Find a place to live far from crowds; that would be much more convenient.

And while he's at it, begin his journey of studying medicine. First, read books, then find a suitable time to become a barefoot doctor and intern.

In this City, that's out of the question, because he would be arrested.

Li Su roughly tallied the gains from the previous world. First, firearms: long guns and handguns, enough to fill a large pond when combined.

He didn't count the exact number because it was meaningless to Li Su; he only intended to travel alone and not build a faction.

Bullets, bombs, and the like, when combined, would be three times the volume of the firearms.

The most abundant items were various kinds of furniture, both new and second-hand. As long as they were relatively clean and undamaged, he collected them.

Most of these items were made of wood, so even if he didn't use them, he could burn them for fuel.

Besides these, there was only one other item: gold. He couldn't calculate the exact amount, but there was a small pile.

It was definitely enough for himself, but dealing with it would be a bit troublesome.

Li Su had already thought about how to handle them: travel all over the country, exchange a portion in each City, and only accept cash. Then there would be no problem.

Then use the cash to collect local specialty foods in each City.

Food must be abundant. If he had had enough food last time, he could have stayed in the Resident Evil world for a longer period.

It was only because he ran out of food this time that he was forced to return.

After tallying his acquisitions, Li Su took out two wooden carvings, disguised himself as a large bird, and flew to the nearest City.

More than half a month later, Li Su looked at the pile of banknotes in his storage space, not knowing the exact amount, but it should be enough for his use.

There were some minor troubles during the gold exchange process, which he simply put into his storage space.

In the past half-month, he not only exchanged a small portion of the gold but also found a relatively ideal house.

The new house was not far from Sea City. Within a ten-mile radius, there was only one other household, and there was also a large lake nearby, with a large forest by the lake. Li Su was particularly satisfied with this place.

Buying it was also simple; the homeowner was quite fond of gambling, so it only took some money to get in touch with him.

After intentionally creating a conflict with him and then making a few local thugs disappear forever, the homeowner readily compromised.

As for purchasing supplies, that was also simple: rent a warehouse, find a hotel, 100 tables a day, and he just needed to sign for the delivery.

As long as you have money, anything is easy to handle; even passing dogs will give you a fawning smile.

Having completed these tasks, Li Su flew directly to Mountain City. It was currently 8 AM.

Watching the hurried commuters, Li Su sighed, remembering that not long ago, he was one of them.

Now, he could leisurely drink milk tea, sitting in Mountain City's famous Clear Lake Park, watching two old grandpas play chess at their leisure.

Li Su watched for a while and couldn't help but say, "You can capture his cannon first."

The white-haired grandpa glanced at Li Su sideways but said nothing.

After watching for a bit longer, Li Su couldn't resist interjecting again, "Capture his knight, and you can turn the tide."

The grandpa still didn't speak.

Just as Li Su was about to speak for the third time, the white-haired grandpa pointed to the side.

Li Su, puzzled, asked, "What's over there?"

The white-haired grandpa cleared his throat and said, "Scram."

Li Su said, "Grandpa, your patience is truly high. You actually tolerated me three times. I thought you would kick me out after the second time."

After speaking, without waiting for a reply, Li Su left.
